Is it racism? No.
Is it a dumb joke that only needed to offend one person before it'd come under scrutiny? Yes.

But that's Wright State for you.

of course it isn't...but to those with a political axe to grind or an agenda to run, it absolutely is.

If this were an ad for Irish history month and it featured a menu of traditional Irish dishes?....nah.

Or mashed potatoes... or hell even watermelon.

It's not racist but it is a stupid overly played out joke.

Racist? No.

Does it stereotype? Yes.

Of course it's going to bring some outrage. The sooner white people figure out not to stereotype or profile...the sooner people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson go away.

love soul food ...black folks know how to cook ......sounds like a good stereo type to me......would showing chop sticks and general tsos chicken when talking about chinese be offensive.......would showing a plate of spaghetti and meatballs be offensive when talking about italians.........the depiction left out one main thing though ......mac and cheese...please

And no its not racist. If you're black and you can't laugh at your non-negative stereotypes you're an ignorant monkey.

Having traditionally black/southern food for black history month is not racist in anyway. Food sounds good too.

As a pretty good self taught gourmet cook ... I could never prepare Collard Greens like my friend mom did when I was in High school.
I could not find a recipe that compared yet.

I don't think they get a whole month! I think they have to settle for just one day....March 17.

Or black people could grow up and stop being offended by everything. Grow some tougher skin and stop being such a party pooper about meaningless stereotypes. Seriously, think white guys are all up in arms when someone says "White guys can't dance". No. We go to work, pay our taxes, and vote in elections.

That ANYONE even remotely considers something like this a stereotype is evidence of how much sh** has been pounded into our head at the expense of reason.

Cinco de Mayo.... Tortillas and refried beans... Tequila, Margaritas.

Racist? Nope, just good eating and drinking.... NOT a demeaning stereotype.

All I know is that I could go for a big plate of all the fried chicken about now.

Apparently lunch wasn't enough for me after foregoing dinner in favor of booze and the like last night...
