McCown's "good" times are more of an outlier. Take away his moment in the sun and dude has quite a few more picks than TD's. He's great in pass coverage, works hard, great locker room guy, etc.... Just wont be a double digit sack guy, or a force in the run game. Def has value.

LOL the ravens were a top 5 defense against the run, and they were the 8th best rushing team with a no name RB, because their line was one of the better lines in the league. The games the ravens couldn't run the ball, Flacco looked like shit. I never compared Flacco to the Browns QB situation, but he is nothing special without a good defense and a good running game. There is a reason why after they won the SB they didn't make the playoffs. They lost key defensive players, their defense dropped a bit, and their running game dropped a big time (ray rice was averaging near 2.1 YPG LOL). Flacco looked like absolute shit that year. I don't think it is coincidence the following year they improved their rush defense, their rush attack, and then made the playoffs. Flacco is "on" when those two parts of the Ravens' game is "on."

From the reports, JFF is trending upward. His first practice was shitty and he's constantly improved from practice to practice. Doesn't mean a whole hill of shit but it's better than the "one good practice, two bad, one good" crap we've heard about the QB's in past years. I did hear that he looked very good in the shotgun (no shocker there) and saw the field very well (anticipated his throws).

You find out whether Manziel is complete shit, you lose a lot and assure yourself of a top 5 pick to get your QB OR he actually is worth a shit and could be moldable. So far, sounds like Pierre Desir is looking like a freaking stud, getting reps with the 1's when Haden/Tramon Williams get veteran day off, while Justin Gilbert is fighting it out with K'Waun Williams for #4 on the depth chart at corner. I think Farmer's draft, this year was safe & solid, but unless JFF pans out, I have a feeling Farmer's 2014 draft is going to be the equivalent of the T-Rich/Weeden 1st round. Gilbert has supposedly looked THAT bad.

I'm not worried about Gilbert. Guy is talented. He'll put it together.

I've Desir looks awesome. Should be an interesting decision for Pettine for that second corner spot.

I bet he doesn't. For all of the good stuff we heard about him in the offseason, from Joe Haden, it sounds like his confidence has gone back in the shitter. Some of the local guys covering this training camp are saying it looks like he's "clueless" and "just doesn't get it." Just like Mingo, you'd expect your top 10 pick to be an impact player/game changer but I bet Gilbert never amounts to anything close to that. Manziel gets a lot of flack for potentially being a 1st round bust, because he's so polarizing but Gilbert could end up being the bigger disappointment.

I think Farmer could have hit on both 1st rounders this year (time will tell/it always does) but it looks like his (Farmer's) true "value" is finding late round gems and UDFA's.
