Apparently he swatted at his kid with a switch and was just indicted. He has to turn himself in and his status for this weekend is now unknown.

Kind of a "What the fuck?" moment after what happened to his son last year. I realize he never met the kid. But it was still his son. I would think that when a child that you made is killed by someone, you would change the way you discipline your other children. That's just me though.

Depends on how he was whacking the kid with a switch. As someone who even had to do the old "pick your own and it better be a good one or I'll pick it for you" thing as a kid, I'd want to know if he was actually beating the shit out of his kid or if this is just some fucking dipshit who thinks any form of physical discipline is abuse making something out of nothing by reporting him.

IF this were manziel, he'd be in prison. Peterson beat his kid so that he had bleeding over multiple parts of his body, including the 4 yr old's penis. I'd say that's overboard. Pretty fucked up.

I don't give a fuck about the "that's how he was raised" reasoning. There are goofy or silly tendencies that you can pick up from your parents, but repeatedly hitting your son with a treen branch isn't one of them.

His Dad was a POS.....

This sucks for that kid. (Seemingly lucky his Dad is one of the biggest NFL stars....but then he's a shitty Dad)

I'm a huge believe on kids needing their Dad as they are growing up. Yeah I know there are a lot of exceptions and many of you are included....but being in an elementary school you can just see it. Girls and boys are both very clingy to most adults there and the boys are horribly behaved. Again, numerous exceptions.

Damnit Peterson WTF?

I've read multiple stories about this but I have yet to find one that he hit his sons penis with the switch, link??

From what I see otherwise is about four to five licks to the front part of his upper leg. I got my share of ass beatings growing up and always fought them resulting in getting whooped in unintended places other than my ass. I'm not going to overreact and label AP as a child beater just yet. I bet we'll see a much different approach from Goodell this time, at least we hope so.

Yeah, that's pretty intense for a little kid. Or really, a human being in general unless you're in some sort of physical competition where the goal is to beat the shit out of someone. You know, like MMA or Fight Club.

Those photos are allegedly from 1 week after the beating and they still look like that. Kid must have looked pretty fucked up the next day as those are some big ass welts for a weeks worth of healing.

If Manzier hit AP's kid with a switch...you're right he should be in jail. Don't worry he'll do something just as stupid soon.

It's a fucking 4 year old. They don't know any better. If you have to whip your 4 year old child instead of talking to him you are an awful parent.

Ya know, you arent too far off.
When the top stories in the league are what they have been the last two weeks it makes it very difficult to just enjoy it. Turn on the news and it is 3-4 stories about the fuck up the players/owners make.

Agreed that Peterson is likely done for the year with those photos, 4 years old is way too young for any type of physical punishment, they don't understand it and it serves no purpose.

Nobody deserves the beating that was apparently given by AP, but I totally disagree about 4 year olds knowing any better. Source: I have a 4 year old niece.

I'm guessing you don't have kids. That's actually when they are learning right from wrong. 4 is not too young for simple discipline.

They should know better to behave properly, but they don't understand physical punishment. To them it is a fear-mechanism and they don't learn why what they did was wrong.

That wasn't simple discipline. Look at the photos again. We aren't into "spanking" but don't judge those that are in to that sort of thing. If there is blood involved, the police should get involved.
