Men need to just let woman have this. Just give them this small win, and move on.

They need things like this to feel empowered, because they aren't getting it through real personal or professional accomplishments.

The vast majority of women that breastfeed in public do so discreetly and just get the business taken care of. The very few ones that I've seen that were a bit more "open" about it chose not only to whip out the whole boob, but also they chose to do so in the most public of public areas - in other words they were trying to draw attention to themselves. Even in airports and shopping malls there are more secluded areas available. The most egregious example (airport with junior soccer team waiting for their flight) was so egregious I would have supported any parent in the area if they told her to find some place else to do it. It was very in appropriate and there was a lot of nip-slips and she kept looking around while her EMO husband/boyfriend looked mortified.

Were you there? If not what are yammering about? There was no reason she needed to do it in the middle of a seating aisle waiting for the next flight when everyone else was getting on the current one. She could have easily found another spot.

Because she did it in an inappropriate location and manner. Is it that damned difficult for you to understand that 95% of women that breast-feed, publicly or not would agree with me if they saw her? She didn't even have to move that far, just walk around the seats and face the other direction. She had full boob out facing 150-200 people passing the boarding gate. The 13-14 year old soccer players were far more adult than her by doing their best not to look at her.

Most of us find a bush or at least a car - we don't just go into town square, whip it out and let fly. What she did was the latter. You weren't there, the people in line would have agreed with me. She was young - mid to late 20's. Seemed average looking, she never stood up. The guy with her was about the same age and looked like he just came from a West Village coffee shop.

Because when you have to do it, you have to do it. No one should care if a guy pulls off the interstate and takes a whiz in the bushes or behind his car. It happens all of the time and we know what he's doing even if he's hiding it. It would be pretty damn weird if he pulled over and started peeing in the direction of incoming traffic.

Nothing kept this woman from sitting in a seat facing the opposite direction, and this wasn't an instance of the woman in Fab's link. This was full boob out in front of hundreds of people needlessly.

If you don't get this, you're just being argumentative for argument's sake. The source is the facts above. No rational person would find what she did appropriate.

If by "rational", you mean "indoctrinated into a system where it's totally appropriate for dudes to be shirtless outdoors and in public, but women have to be covered up to some degree because of various reasons that tend to revolve around dudes being uncomfortable or worried about being able to control themselves", I totally agree!

Wrong. My wife breastfed both of our kids, and did so in public. She was always respectful and covered. WTF do you people think it's so hard to do so? And WTF do you think people want to see your bare tits hanging out in public places just because you have to feed your kid?

It's just not that hard and I don't see why some insist that it's not just good manners to cover. Again, doing it in public is perfectly fine.
