Ballgame.
Shaw works around the error. They are never easy with this bunch. Welcome back, Josh Tomlin. Happy for him.

How many more errors tonight?

Tribe is really pitching great right now, but aside from a sputtering offense, the defense HAS to tighten up. Especially with guys like Kluber and Tomlin in the rotation. They dont walk a lot of guys and throw strikes. They need a solid defense behind them.

Even Masterson, since he relies on the groundball out.

Back from the game....# 4 spot in the rotation locked down by Tomlin who should have been here all along. More of the same as far as the offense....Chisenhall, Brantley, Murphy with an occasional assist from Swisher and Gomes. I'm not sure wtf happened to Druby, but the past year he just looks awful at the plate.

Probably the saddest thing is that we could be on a five game winning streak right now.

Huge Tomlin fan, nice to see him get off to a good start.

Back to beating a dead horse, how long do they let Santana suck? his couple hits in Anaheim seemed to have been a fluke.

Part of the problem is who do you put in the clean up spot...if not Santana?

With the way he's struggling, you may as well let the pitcher hit :o

Ive said it a few times and Rick Manning echoes it a bit louder last night. The guy REFUSES to take a walk. He gets himself back into counts, or even ahead in counts, then just gets himself out. He wont make the pitcher get in the zone and assumes a 2-0 pitch will be a fastball down the middle. It isnt, hes out. But, once he gets to 3 balls, he is swinging at everything and anything. Literally the guy has to think a walk is worse than an out.

It is worse when guys are on base. He wants to drive them in so bad, he is flailing at everything. The book must be out on him. Don't throw him strikes. He won't walk so throw him balls until he gets himself out.

The entire team stinks with runners in scoring position. Over the past several games the production in such a scenario is horrendous.

Im not sure anyone, except maybe Alex Gordon, is a more complete LFer in the game.

I would have to look at who the LFers in the MLB are though, admittedly.

2-1 Tribe on a 2 run double by Brantley....and Santana continues to suck at the plate.

Id stick Gomes in the 4 hole for a bit. RH bat with some pop. He isnt on fire, but compared to Santana, he is Ted Williams.

Not a bad idea, and I'd even consider Chiz occasionally spotting him there against righties.

I would put him 5th. Im not as crazy about having to go L/R/L/R/L like Tito is, but he wouldnt go Brantley/Chiz (and when Kipnis is back, Kip/Chiz/Brantley). So, I would settle for Brantley/Gomes/Chiz at the moment.
