The guy is going through the worst start to a season in his career and perhaps the worst slump of his young career. The worst thing you can do is not let him hit. Maybe move him down in the order to take the pressure off but the guy need at bats to break out. Sitting on the bench will only make it worse. Jhonny Peralta did the same thing every year. The guy was hot garbage in April and May and then by June and July when the weather heated up, you couldn't get the guy out.
