Well, at least the Ivy will get a 3rd game between them, although both backed their way into a 3-loss Ivy season. Sucks Murray blew it. Belmont stinks. No good wins really, got drilled by a lot of sub-100 teams. Then, they get into the dance beating Murray, who was 18-0 in the OVC. March for you...

Aren't you going to comment on Harrell's game today? He played pretty well....

I love watching Belmont. With Rick Byrd at the helm and the way they can shoot the ball, the Bruins can absolutely beat somebody in the Dance.

He did.

Does that change the fact that he's not still one of the most overrated players this year? Not even deserving of first team All-ACC and nowhere close to All-American. He's also on a team with literally 3 scoring threats. His numbers don't really reflect the opportunity he has to put up stats...

They're probably staring at a 16 seed unless a lot of small conference favorites go down.

Wasn't the Belmont team that won the OVC two years ago the worst 3-point shooting team in the tournament?

So what? This year's Belmont team is fourth in the nation in threes made per game at 9.9. They aren't quite as high in team accuracy as in years past, but on a hot night the Bruins can make them in volume.

Granted, if Belmont gets a 16, they're not going to win a game. But if they somehow find themselves on that 15 line depending on how things play out in the other conferences, Rick Byrd has proven that his team is a worthy opponent. This is a team that has historically shot very well in the NCAAs. Pointing out that one year they were not as good is utterly irrelevant.

It wasn't that, it was that they typically aren't a dominant 3-point shooting team. They certainly hit enough tonight.

Not sure what you are basing on that information on, but long-range shooting is traditionally a staple of Belmont's.

Fuck Belmont. I've listed my frustrations on the other thread (fantasy) about not getting to see Cam Payne in the dance. Pisses me right off.

On that note, feel free to add, but these are the 4 players hat jumped out as recent greats to never play in the NCAAs (though some could still make it this year):

DamianLillard
Cam Payne
RJ Hunter
Keifer Sykes

Kendrick Perry
Norris Cole???

Don't recall if CSU made the tourney that year.

The only player in recent years I was truly disappointed in not making the Dance was Lillard. He was Harold "The Show" Arcenaux reincarnated. With Lillard running the show, Weber State had the weaponry to advance on to the Sweet 16 that season. He was by leaps and bounds the best player not to reach the Dance.

In other news, Tyus Jones with another staggering big-game performance. Kid is a spectacular talent. Barring a quarterfinal ACC loss, Duke has locked up a number one seed. No team in the country has a resume of wins as impressive as Duke.

Lillard is the best in recent memory. I remember late nights watching him dismantle the Big Sky as a Jr and Sr, only to fall short both years. I feel a Tyler Harvey is headed to the same path. Different players (Lillard is an all NBA Ayer while Harvey is one of the best shot makers/scorers in basketball). Both, to me, would be equally disappointing.

On that note though, not sure Keifer Sykes isn't on the same level as Lillard...

Sykes is great, don't get me wrong. Even though we are strictly speaking college here, it's easy to sort of elevate Lillard to a higher plane as a result of how magnificently good he has been at the next level. Admittedly, I am probably guilty of that here.

BYU/Santa Clara is tough to watch. Officials are horrendous.

Duke have enough to secure to a #1 seed?

Road wins this year vs. Wisconsin, Louisville, Virginia, Syracuse (eh), and North Carolina.

It would take Duke losing in quarterfinals and still some other things
