Yeah I guess that's true just looked at bracketology and saw Wofford is projected as a 12 seed didn't expect them to be better than a 13 seed.Laley23;1711398 wrote:I hate when those teams win...knocks everyone up a seed because those teams take the 15/16 lines. Rec I'm with you sucks Iona won't be in the big dance. I was fully planning on taking them to the sweet 16 if they were a 12 seed haha.

Tim Cluess is a poor man's Paul Westhead.
As much as I enjoy watching Iona, the Gaels didn't deserve to advance tonight. For starters, it appears as if they have no formal training in defense. Manhattan, conversely, played a great defensive game and never allowed Iona to find their rhythm.

Yeah, that is a great example though. Iona was gonna be a 12/13, and a team that will give someone a game more than likely. Instead, Manhatten is a 15??? At best? So, that means a 15 is now a 14, 14 a 13, etc. The trickle down can kill the great Mid-Major match-ups. If Wofford had lost as well, now we are looking at 2 shitty teams bumping up teams to a seed line they shouldnt be on.Iliketurtles;1711407 wrote:Yeah I guess that's true just looked at bracketology and saw Wofford is projected as a 12 seed didn't expect them to be better than a 13 seed.

Yeah, Turtles, I'm really bummed over Iona losing. Offensively there are few teams in the country as electrifying as Iona. The Gaels can score in droves, but it was not to be. When you rely on the three as much as they do, you must be able to defend at least a little to weather the storm of a poor shooting night.

What might be the best Conference Tournament final outside of the Power 5 (heck, maybe including them) takes place tonight.
Green Bay vs Valparaiso. Either of these teams can win multiple in the NCAAs.
Followed by another great one, BYU vs Gonzaga. Both, with a ton to play for.

BYU and Gonzaga should be awesome. Really excited for that game. GB and Valpo will always be a good one but really pulling for GB to win.Laley23;1711505 wrote:What might be the best Conference Tournament final outside of the Power 5 (heck, maybe including them) takes place tonight.

Jim Calhoun is absolutely right. The coaching for GB has been atrocious. Why on earth do they keep screening for Sykes. Just bringing an easy double team right to him. Let him go 1-1 with a spaced floor, they wouldn't be able to stop him.

St Francis down 3, fouled on a 3 with 2.4 seconds left.
Brick. Brick. Intentional miss, but doesn't hit the rim. Ouch.

I think Calhoun would be pretty good if it wasn't so damn hard to understand him.

Definitely agree with you on this. Fucking every team I've wanted to win has lost here the last few days which means BYU has no chance tonight.Mulva;1711777 wrote:I think Calhoun would be pretty good if it wasn't so damn hard to understand him.

I was gonna be happy with either Valpo or GB out of the Horizon when the tournament started, but once it got to this point, I really wanted to see what Keifer could do on the biggest stage. Valpo is a better team though, so at least it isnt like one of the crazy upsets in a mid-major that takes away the potential for an upset in the NCAAs. Ill probably be picking Valpo no matter what.

Missed front end. Overturned call that I didnt understand on a "block" out of bounds. Missed front end. Missed 3 pt when driving lanes were open down 1 that didnt hit anything but backboard.
Twitter told me to get to ESPN2 for the finish. Twitter was wrong.

Calhoun has that distinctive northeastern sound ala Al McGuire, which is pleasant to listen to on the broadcast (and he's obviously knowledgeable), but as you say it's like he fucking mutters it so all that cancels out. I also find Jim Calhoun as a human to be one step below a reptile, so I don't think I'd like him even if I could make sense of him.Mulva;1711777 wrote:I think Calhoun would be pretty good if it wasn't so damn hard to understand him.

Yeah, and with that St. Francis maintains their presence amongst the five teams who've been members of the NCAA the entire time they've had the tournament, but have never been invited. Along with William and Mary (who also flubbed a chance in their conference championship this year), Army, The Citadel and Northwestern.Mulva;1711776 wrote:St Francis down 3, fouled on a 3 with 2.4 seconds left.

WTF has happened in this FSU/Clemson game. I've been watching at work and had to go away to take care of something and FSU was up like 12 with 90 seconds left... come back and with 25 seconds left Clemson is now only down 2.

FSU couldn't get the ball inbounds. Both those teams are bad. So bad. But it was a great comeback

Amazing that FSU almost blew that game. Can't believe they didn't foul and let Clemson shoot the 3.

Patriot League final has been a hell of a last 10 minutes.
The winner's prize is going to a play-in game and probably losing it, but still. Great crowd.
