Spongebob Movie 6/10
Had the normal kid stuff mixed in with the adult humor that of course goes over the kids heads but the parents got.

Dumb and Dumber To 7/10.
Went in expecting an extremely ridiculous movie, was exactly what I got. Plot almost identical to the last one, minor tweaks obviously. But overall, its what you'd expect.

Homefront - 8.5/10

I have to admit it. James Franco can act when he wants to. Between this and 'Good People', it's obvious he can cut it if he wants to. Statham was Statham.

I watched foxcatcher last night. I thought the acting was pretty good, but the story was meh. And the ending was definitely rushed.

Can we use spoiler tags? I thought we could but it's not working...

Yeah, it really does drag. I liked the ending, and it made it worth watching, but it wouldn't have hurt for it to move a little faster, or at least for them to have made it a little shorter.

Agree. The ending was out of nowhere and I like Hardy, so the fact he was in every scene practically helped.

Just not sure what the point of some of the plotlines were...like, that fucking dog.

Finally got around to watching Birdman today. Pretty damn solid, but I liked other films this yr more that I would have voted for Best Pic over it. 7.5/10

I watched a mob-related movie last night, too. Yours was better.

Gangster Squad - 5/10

Cheesy movie that isn't trying to be. It's saving grace was that Sean Penn was excellent as Mickey Cohen.

Snowpiercer, watched it on Netflix while on the treadmill.

Post-Apocalyptical film set on a train, lots of gore and some weird stuff.

At best a 4/10, I was never really entertained. It did have some well known actors in it though.

Aside from Penn, I pretty much agree with that.

This is next on my list. Given the premise of the movie I can hardly believe it is so well rated on rotten tomatoes.

"The Wrecking Crew" (documentary) - 10/10 for the nostalgia factor alone, and younger musicians should appreciate its historical significance.

I found out by accident last week that it was in theaters, and enjoyed it very much. I believe it has a limited release, I saw it listed in only one theater in Columbus this week, Gateway on the OSU campus. According to the film's website is also being released on Netflix: http://www.wreckingcrewfilm.com/

The film is directed by the son of Tommy Tedesco, and took nearly 20 years for him to get it released nationally.

If you don't know the Wrecking Crew by that name, you've probably heard them play countless times on the radio since the early 1960's. They're mostly retired now, but their story is fascinating.

For more info, read Hal Blaine's autobiography, "Hal Blaine and The Wrecking Crew"; also a more in-depth look at the background of several Wrecking Crew members called "The Wrecking Crew: The Inside Story of Rock and Roll's Best-Kept Secret", written by Kent Hartman.

Inside Man - 9/10

I've been binging on this movie lately. I've probably watched it half a dozen times while I work in the last month. Great writing. Great acting. Great score. The Bollywood song at the beginning was a little weird, but they even made that work. Clive Owen does the calm mastermind role really well, and Denzel and Jodi Foster were solid as always.
