I think Cowher's ship has sailed. I dont think he would want to come back, or do I believe he would be super successful. The longer coaches stay away, the less likely they are coming back.

Possibly, but this is who I'd target as a GM, and he can always say no--but I'd have to ask.

Gotcha. Thought ya meant as a HC.

Ya can bet Obrien is smiling big now with all these job openings. Wonder if the Tezans were trying to sign him before this all happened and drove up the market

lol, I did--I meant if it were me as the GM I'd still inquire about Cowher's interest.

Banner was asked if anyone interviewed last year will be a candidate this year, and his answer was no. This would include O'Brien, so I'm guessing O'Brien to Houston is pretty much a done deal.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet1m
#Browns already have their first head coaching candidate lined up: #Seahawks DC Dan Quinn. Rising star.

Yea, lets fire a first year head coach, and then hire another guy that has never been a head coach. FML.

Also, worst case scenario, we hire McDaniels and draft Manziel. If that happens, we will continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL for years to come.

Vball I can't really answer your question regarding the coach without being in the interviews. I wanna see schemes, drafting strategies, style of offense/defense, etc.

I guess if I had to answer id say saban and bortles.

Are you saying someone can't be a successful nfl coach in his first year as a hc?

Nope. I'm saying it is very tough, especially when you're coming to a team that isn't very good, and you may possibly only have one year to prove yourself.

I think browns fans mean tha thtey dont want to take the chance on a HC with no HC experience and want a guy who has proven to a point. I cannot blame them after the debacle of the last so many years.

But then again..they had Mangini who had some success as a HC.

Fair enough. I was just curious as to what other people thought regarding the HC/QB.

Hey retard you're the one who asked. So I replied.

Now lets get back to the Browns.

Dont know how it works....but the first assistant coach to fire is Ray Horton. Hey Ray...your defense was absolute shit all year. Fuck you. All the tripe bantered on your behalf was a load of crap.

It did get progressively worse. They could never get a stop when the money was on the line.

@JasonLaCanfora: Once Josh McDaniels interviews for the Browns job, again, I'll have a helluva time thinking someone else gets it
This is a known Lombardi mouth piece. This whole process is a sham. McDaniels is the guy. The rest of these interviews are just window dressing.

So we have guys that could get their first head coaching job turning down an interview with the Browns. Laughing stock.

Well that sucks, but I definitely didn't want a 35 year old child coaching the Browns.

I wouldn't want Gase. Peyton is his own OC.

I think someone (Ian Rapoport?) clarified that he wasn't doing any interviews with anyone until the season was over.
