I'm sure it's permanent. Hell, I remember reading somewhere that Goodell wants to make it a four-day event instead of the "mere" three days it takes now.thavoice;1613037 wrote:SUre you didnt mean $5,000?
Is the draft permanantly moved to this later date or just for this year?
This extra time really sucks.
Pure fucking stupidity. I have a friend who holds a yearly draft party for the first round and I'm sure it'd be a lot more crazy there if half the people didn't have to be up for work the next day.

I read on espn insider a few weeks ago the NFL intends to move the draft date back to its original week. One of the reasons they pushed the date forward was because there was some damn concert going on at the music hall. If I were the NFL I would ave told the venue to either move the concert or they can GFT and find another venue.Heretic;1613047 wrote:I'm sure it's permanent. I dont mind it starting in prime time. I dont mind it starting in prime time. The times I did watch it in the past when it was on sat I would hope for shitty weather so I did not feel guilty staying in and watching it.Heretic;1613047 wrote:I'm sure it's permanent. Now I will tune in every hour for a short time to see whom picked whom, but dont watch it wall to wall like I used to.
I guess getting older means watching every second of the draft (and all this pre draft bs) means less and less!

I preferred it when it was all day Saturday. This splitting it up over multiple day is a joke. I don't even watch anything besides the 1st round anymore.

It was all day Saturday and Sunday back then, rounds 1-3 on Saturday, 4-7 on Sunday. No one remembers Sunday because no one watched it. Now that is Saturday as no one watches it.sleeper;1613095 wrote:I preferred it when it was all day Saturday. This splitting it up over multiple day is a joke. I wish they would just leave it like it is but move it to Friday through Sunday. Thursday night, late night, for the first round sucks for those that have to get up early Friday morning for work.

Personally I would like the 1st and 2nd rounds Saturday evening and 3-7 starting Sunday around noon.

They are looking at ratings.
I imagine even the latest setup gives them better ratings than before on those days. Even the weekend late rounds probably outdraw the college baseball/softball they cover.

Anyone else think the Browns might trade Rubin during the draft?

Great stuff today on the Animal House. Dustin has done a full 180 and is now all in on JMFF. Same with the Bull. Some national network guru tweeted that Haslam wants Manziel too.
The problem remains though. Houston and Jacksonville both need a quarterback...even more so than the Browns. If you want to get it right, then you need to be proactive in getting it right.
If I were the GM, Wadkins and Manziel would be Cleveland Browns next fall.

Mr. Breowns, for the 3rd time, give me the trade scenario that lands the Browns 2 top 5 picks to get both of these players. Your one attempt at it was quickly disproven as remotely possible as they were SO one sided to the Browns favor that no GM on the planet would do the trade.Footwedge;1613131 wrote:Great stuff today on the Animal House. Give a realistic trade that lands the Browns two top 5 picks, until then stop trolling because there is NO WAY you are serious in believing it is even remotely possible to draft two guys in the top 5.
Now, if Manziel drops like some people are expecting (some even to the low first/early 2nd round) then I could see getting both of these guys. However, no way on the planet should the Browns mortgage a whole draft OR TWO to move up that far to get 2 players.

FW is hte king of the Constanza trade.
If he was in charge I Have no doubt the browns could get the top 4 picks in this draft.

Do you want those 2 guys? Quality trumps quantity in pro sports, each and every time. With what? 10 draft picks this year, you mean to tell me it can't get done? Ridiculous. Sure I listed very real scenarios in getting it done. Once it's done, you have 6 or 7 pro bowlers on offense and probably 3 hall of famers. How many pro bowlers did record breaking Denver have last year?
The lunacy of Browns fans is quite remarkable. Einstein's definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and over again and to expect a different result. We have seen the same results for 15 years now. But let's go ahead and draft a frickin tackle to solve our woes this year.
If I was Farmer, we would win the Central this year and then win the Super Bowl the following year. This year the offense is fixed. Next year, the defense is fixed.

Not 4 slick, just 2. That's all we need. Plenty of picks still remaining for a guard, tackle and cornerback.thavoice;1613136 wrote:Sure they would.

As for Farmer, he has the opportunity to get it right. By Saturday we will know yeay or nay.

Did Failwedge really just talk about the Browns winning the Central? That's about as classic as his Breowns will make the playoffs thread.

Peyton Manning completed less than 63% of his passes at Tennessee. JMFF 69%. But....let's get me some offensive tackle with the 4th pick.
On the fan somebody just called in and was saying why is Johnny Manning Hayes being projected to the Browns when Jax and Houston both need a quarterback just as badly as we do? Great point, my friend. That is why we will find out if Farmer is an idiot or not. Not gonna fly with Browns fans if he says "well, we were going to draft JMFF if Houston blah, blah, blah". You need to trade up and get him.
He either gets it wrong...or gets it right.
