How many of those 40 are off immediate blitz sacks and his ridiculous line? Regardless, that has to be the dumbest argument ever. I guarantee you I could play all season at QB and have zero sacks....where would that rank me?

If you have to negate Ben for the extra sacks he compiles, then you have to weigh in the extra plays made because of him making the play instead of throwing it out of bounds.

Actually Roethlisberger is the only positive I can take from their terrible season. He's fine, but the team overall is very bad....lacking talent, depth, etc.

so taking more sacks than about any qb in the nfl isn't a negative thing for a qb to do? Maybe in Pittsburgh it isn't, but trust me, browns fans were happy when Hoyer was getting rid of the ball where Weeden was taking sacks.


And while pittsburghs line line sucks this year, that was not true the seasons he had 50 or close to 50 sacks.

Romo gets under a microscope by the media because of being in Dallas and more games being on national TV.

Please, tell me concretely why Ben is better than Romo, without subjective terms. Give me something absolute and measurable.

Yeah I mean I would prefer to have neither, but would unequivocally want Romo on the Browns right now over Ben.

You want to talk about Ben's escapability? Romo is regarded as the best, or among the best, QB in the league when things break down, with Rodgers up there too. You want stats? Romo's are better.

The only thing Ben has over Romo is 2 team awards (Super Bowl rings).

Did you miss the link I posted previously? Romo is a regular season stat monster and I give no fucks about that. His HUGE mistakes with the ball in his hands and game on the line stick out. When/if he can ever shake that reputation I'll be the first to give him props, but right now, he's a choke artist.

Did you miss the link that showed Romo is tied for the league lead in 4th Q and OT game winning drives? Big Ben is no where on that list.

So even your own reason for taking Ben over Romo is only based on biased media opinion and not fact. AKA bullshit.

If I had to guess you are a Steelers fan? Because in my experience only Steeler fans truly think Big Ben is good.

Don't get me wrong, Ben is better than any QB the Browns have had since 1999. But he is NOT top 10 and is NOT better than Romo/Ryan/Rivers.

He is definitely top 15, but not top tier like Steeler fans seem to believe.

Even if you include their whole careers, Ben has averaged 3 per season (30 in 10 years), Romo has averaged 2.5 per season (20 in 8 years). Not a huge difference, and like someone said above, look over the last 3 or 4 years and the numbers are not even close.

In the last 3 seasons, Ben has 5, Romo has 10.

The question is who is better right now, which is what we've all been talking about, not who was better 6-7 years ago.

Dude...take off the Orange & Brown goggles. Roethlisberger isn't that great but Cleveland fans hold Bernie on a pedestal. He was a pretty average QB. Sipe was better than Bernie, imo. Pittsburgh might have won two SB's in spite of Roethlisberger but at least he took them there.

21 of 30 for 256 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT vs Cards....pretty pedestrian. Stats against Seattle were much worse and the stats, in the loss against Green Bay, 2 TD's, 2 INT's, including a pick 6, weren't much better. The only thing he could hang his hat on in that Cards game was the game winning drive...that was pretty much it.

Played pretty well in both playoff runs leading up to the title, especially the first one. No one gave them a chance against Indy and he lit up the Broncos in their house.

Yeah, he only can hang his hat on the GAME WINNING DRIVE of the Super Bowl.

You can't directly compare stats from the 80s to today with the new 'easier' passing rules.

However, compare Kosar to a hall of famer from his time in Elway.

I would say (obviously) Marino was the best of the 3, but Kosar statistically was better than Elway.
