My routine would consist of varying sessions of HIIT or low intensity/long duration. Treadmill or stepper.ernest_t_bass;1571127 wrote:Re: Cardio
What are your favorite types of cardio? Wife and I just got a membership to the local (small) gym, and I bought it specifically for cardio in this treacherous weather. This morning, my routine was:
10 min - Walk briskly (warm up)
20 min - Row machine
10 min - Crossfit machine
10 min - Walk briskly (cool down)
I dress with layers, so I worked up a pretty good sweat. What this particular has for cardio, includes:
Arm bike (lol)
Bike
Sitting bike
Treadmill
Crosstrainer/crossfit
Elliptical
Row machines
Some weird ass sitting bike/arm thing
Step machine
As well as some nautilus equipment
What is your favorite cardio exercises, and given the list, what is suggested that I do?

I'm way out of wack right now. I haven't worked out since September.
Nice, been doing an Insanity twice a week, weight being P90X three times a week.Gblock;1571134 wrote:been doing insanity dvds for about 24 days in a row...just getting to the point now where i can finish a workout for the most part without stopping

There's gotta be something in the BCAAs that I'm taking that gives me an energy boost. I workout in a fasted state, but ever since I have been taking BCAAs I have noticed a dog invent difference in energy.Azubuike24;1571172 wrote:Nothing. I prefer a complete amino over BCAA's. BCAA's only consist of 3 aminos that are required for protein synthesis, but aren't going to assist in triggering muscle building. This is why proteins are always going to contain these 3 aminos, but rarely a complete amino. As for the energy thing, I've never heard that. It's either a placebo effect or there's something else in the BCAA "drink" like caffeine, Beta Alanine, Arginine, etc...that may give you that feeling.
I will usually do my pre-workout mix of Caffeine, Beta Alanine and Carnitine, or just a generic PWO drink if it's around. During the workout, I'll sip on an essential amino drink and then post-workout, hit the whey protein along with a few extra grams of BCAA's.
i like both...one thing about the insanity is its a shorter workout...im getting tired of it already tho...i am in the process of downloading the t25 to mix in and may also rotate the p90 yoga because it really helps my flexibility which is a weak spot for meSonofanump;1571173 wrote:Nice, been doing an Insanity twice a week, weight being P90X three times a week.
For those wondering, Tonya is still bringing the energy!
My mom and younger brother are both doing it. They both seem to like it. Everything is getting condensed into 1/2 hr or less segments. If the intensity is ramped up and there are short to no breaks it's great to get it done that fast.ernest_t_bass;1571224 wrote:Liking the looks of the Focus t25.
A lot of people giving it high praise just like T25. Everyone loves a quick workout. They seem to be pretty intense.rrfan;1571248 wrote:any thoughts on P90x3? I have been doing it for about two weeks and I do like it. Wanted to see any other thoughts...
