Anyhow, I am a believer of a monster pass rush and average corner play. It is what works anymore

Kind of funny that Mayock compares McFadden to Brent Grimes. Browns must like that type of player.

Just wait till Tyler Bray goes to someone else. Then flame him. McFadden fills a need, IDGAF if he has fluid hips as long as he can guard someone better than Skrine has on the outside. If we grab a guard tomorrow then I am a fan of the new regime. They know where we're weak and drafted accordingly. Can't ask for much more...wes_mantooth;1434716 wrote:Lol...who pissed in your wheaties?

I wish we would've given Honey Badger a shot. He's gonna be a stud and I think hell keep his nose clean.

McFadden is solid. They played man at His school so he has experience being on an island. Should be day 1 starter opposite Haden. Also, it was exactly who the Browns wanted there other than Logan, who went a pick before. If anything, this front office is getting the guys they want. Will be interesting to see who they get tomorrow. Safety is a big need. Not sure where all the guard wants are coming from, Pinkston will be back and Greco can play RG. Not a huge need imo.

Can't play the outside. We don't need a nickel corner. And supposedly AZ is moving him to FS. Not to mention is other issues. No thanks.scoreboard;1434763 wrote:I wish we would've given Honey Badger a shot. He's gonna be a stud and I think hell keep his nose clean.

Nothing against McFadden, but I would have liked them to take the honey badger ( who went to the Cardinals on the next pick). That would have been a marketing guys dream....Barkevious and Tyrann. Oh, well.
....moreso....I think Mathieu would have been a first round pick if he kept his nose clean.
Cards plan to play him at safety.

A lot of teams apparently felt like that's exactly what McFadden is.iclfan2;1434771 wrote:Can't play the outside. We don't need a nickel corner.
I didn't want anything to do with Mathieu either, though.Andrew Mason ‏@MaseDenver 24 Feb San Diego State CB Leon McFadden said he met w/ the #Broncos last night. Says most teams are asking him about playing nickel corner.

How many of those tweets turned out to be bullshit?

What tweets? That's a guy who covers the Broncos. When McFadden met with Denver 2 months ago, he (McFadden) said most teams were asking him about playing nickel.SportsAndLady;1434786 wrote:How many of those tweets turned out to be bullshit?
That wasn't a rumor, it was something the player himself said.
There are people who think he can play outside because of his physicality, and others who think he can't because of his size/speed deficiencies. The Browns can't really afford the latter to be correct or its going to be a long-ass year in the secondary.

Apparently he agreed to weekly drug tests.
Maybe it doesn't pick up the peyote they have in AZ?

Doesn't matter if he does weekly drug tests. Wont help that he's a nickel corner.

No way would he have gone in the first. His coverage skills aren't first round talent.

What tweets? Umm the one you posted? Who cares what some.guy on the broncos tweeted in February. Doesnt make it gospel.
Ill trust that our front office didn't draft a nickel corner in the third round to be able to play across haden.

Like the Bess pickup, a lot. No excuses for Weeden this year. Filled a need with the corner. Would like to see a guard or safety next.
Honey Badger isn't keeping his nose clean, imo. Dude is a first class clown who hasn't learned his lesson. Failed TEN drug tests at LSU, within the past two weeks has blown off visits to the Texans and another team AND the night before the first round it leaked he was having a "Honey Badger 1st Round Selection Draft Party." Not only was this just throwing a party (which isn't uncommon) but was billing it as projecting himself to go in the 1st.

Yeah no thanks on tyrann. Not only everything u said, but hes not great in coverage. If you have 1 of the 2 you can get by..but when you're batshit crazy AND not a great cover corner that isn't gonna fly.

McFadden is only 5' 10"....gonna give away alot of height to big NFL recievers who have all the physical skills he has. Don't get me wrong...I'm okay with the pick, just not expecting him to be much more than adequate.
Again, Cards plan to use Mathieu and his ball hawking skills at safety.....and maybe for entertainment/social director:laugh:

If Nassib is there at 17 this round, we have to take him.
