If the Browns want a more athletic QB to groom they should spend a 4th or 5th on Matt Scott from Arizona. He only started 1 year, played great for us, and worked with George Whitfield this offseason who sang his praises. He's got a good arm and he's smart. If you want to see a pretty awesome QB game film watch his highlights vs Stanford. Arizona was the only offense to really torch Stanford and Scott was a huge reason why.

S
ome pundits were saying before LAST year's draft that Scott was the better pro prospect than Foles.

At that time, taking a QB at #5 meant you thought he was a franchise QB. Sanchez has proven to be bad (though it can't go without mention that he was in back to back AFC championship games. Better than some "elite" QBs in the NFL). Either way, at that time he was a top QB prospect and is the starter for the Jets and we gave the pick away for a bunch of shit.

Reports: Dee Milliner may slide on draft day

Appearing on NFL 32 Monday, ESPN's Todd McShay suggested Alabama CB Dee Milliner "might fall a little bit" on draft day.

We've gotten the same vibe. McShay cited teams' concerns about Milliner's "durability" and "not elite ball skills." A Monday morning report suggested Milliner wouldn't even be ready for training camp following shoulder surgery. On Monday's Mort Report, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Milliner's medical history includes a rod in his tibia near Milliner's ankle, a past knee scope, and hernia surgery. "There is some concern out there about Milliner and his medical history," Mortensen said. "And it's not misinformation, not trying to make a guy fall down (the draft) because all teams have this same information."

Been saying that since January. Not worth it. You don't take a #2 CB at 6. Wouldnt be overly pissed (Weeden) as its a need, but bottom line its bad business.

Stay at 6 and go defense. Jones, Jordan, Millner, trade back. No further than 11.

I really look for Banner and Lombardi to do something stupid in this draft just to prove to us how smart they are.

My thoughts
1.Pass rush
2.CB

1. Trade down (but not past 11, and get a high 3rd or 2nd for it)
2. Take who is there of
  1. Jordan
  2. Warmack
  3. Milliner

are you saying a pass rusher and a cb with the first 2 picks would be stupid?

Great point, esp with an egotist like Banner, and always wants the spotlight media guy for several years lombardi.

No. He's not. He said he thinks they'll do something dumb. then he hit return twice. then he said "my thoughts." then he told you his opinion

I don't mind going down past eleven as long as it involves two separate trades.

Agree they got shit back beyond actually scoring well with the Mack pick. Just like this year, that draft was lacking a franchise QB beyond Stafford.

Didnt really factor that in, but I would agree. Same principle though. Get REAL value back. 3rd rounder or better for the 2nd trade and early 3rd or better for the first.

If you comparing them so far its hard to argue in favor of Stafford. I agree that I'd MUCH rather have stafford, but his injuries/lack of playoffs compared to Sanchez is noteworthy.

Not only hearing the "Milliner will slide" comments but also that it's very possible that Geno falls to the 20's, where he belongs. NFL Network was saying even Buffalo may pass on him.

This is why a trade down would be ideal. First off you could probably still get milliner and there are going to be some solid QBs in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Also saw on the NFL Network this morning that Pittsburgh's GM has a hard on for Tyler Bray. Not a Browns topic but whatever.

Agree. I would not want Sanchez on my team and IMHO Stafford is a borderline Franchise (i.e. top 15-18) QB.

Please don't tell me you have Dalton ranked ahead of him...

Do you think there are that many franchise QB's? You are saying that half the league has franchise QB's. That seems like a huge stretch.

Schefter specifically mentioned the Eagles (fourth), Lions (fifth), Browns (sixth), Bills (eighth) and Dolphins (12th) as having made calls trying to trade down.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/04/23/report-five-teams-in-top-12-want-to-move-down/related/

If that is the case we might be picking at 6.

With that many teams trying to move down it is going to really drive down the price.

It's amazing what a difference a year makes.
