It's a stupid rule but it's all in the league's effort to show they are making the game safer. The game is pretty violent and physical, but that allows them to demand a premium in pay during their career. Start cutting their pay accordingly and this problem goes away; you can start with Flacco's ridiculous salary.

They took away the defenders ability to lead with the helmet to protect offensive players. I love me some t rich, but a rb just isn't a position that you spend a top 3 pick on and expect to get instantly better as a team.

I don't think so. This is a bit dramatic. Just look at the 08 and 09 draft and compare it to last years draft. Trich is still a beast, winn/hughes were great mid/late round pickups, JMJ would be a solid starter, and let's not forget Gordon. This is how I feel too. I think trich is a great player; top 5 RB for sure. The problem is the league is slowly transforming from a run first league to a pass first league. It's basically becoming a game of, who can rush the QB fast enough before he can pick apart your secondary. 2. D-Line

The best thing a RB can do is learn how to block and catch a pass.

Clowney is really the only known commodity in next years draft. I mean you can pretty much book the fact that SF got to the Superbowl and is a great team; they have a ridiculous D-line/LB core. Their CBs are okay, but they could just shred through O-lines like butter.

If they don't see someone that "wows" them (there isn't anyone really like that in this draft except Warmack, to me), sure move down as much as possible. Do you not see the slight difference between the Browns and the Patriots?? Yeah, I know there's a difference.
