Lol I feel like we've always agreed on the fact that Weeden should be the starter. Hell, we spent a first rounder on him.BR1986FB;1410699 wrote:We finally agree on something.I'm also in the camp that if he looks totally clueless & sucks, you move on...no third year to "get it."
Where we've disagreed is a) actually picking him and b) him being the long term future.

I've always been of the belief that if the light bulb goes on they could get 5-6 years out of him. He was mediocre last year so he's used one of his "lives" if it clicks this year maybe they get 3-4 more years out of him. If he doesn't, move on. There should be no excuses for him in this offense...sink or swim.SportsAndLady;1410701 wrote:Lol I feel like we've always agreed on the fact that Weeden should be the starter. If hes bad this year, and you're cool with them moving on. Wouldn't you want a QB on the roster now to learn the offense for a year? That's why I am okay with Geno at 6 if hes still there (he won't)
I wasn't saying GO ALL OUT FOR GENO, moreso if he's there he'd be great to have in case Weeden turns to shit.
If not Geno, at least a 3-4th rounder.

They will have to have some kind of contingency plan if Weeden craps out. Either a 3rd/4th rounder this year or go "all in" for someone next year.SportsAndLady;1410717 wrote:If hes bad this year, and you're cool with them moving on. I'm just not a fan of Geno. I think you'll be getting the same issues (poor footwork, poor accuracy, etc) that people are complaining about Weeden about. I know Smith completed something like 71% of his passes this year but one of his knocks is accuracy.
Even if he falls, I'm not a fan of them burning a pick on a QB at #6 when he might be a younger version of what's already on the roster.

Bray = Mallet - 3 years + 1/2 ounce of mobility
..and he can be had in the third round without giving the patriots anything

^^^ right. Id rather go all in on Bridgewater or another QB prospect next year. If Weeden fails.

He can be elite imo. He was on his way to beign a pro bowler and possibly an all-pro selection last year if he didn't fucking dip into some party favors over the offseason.

The defender can not lead with the crown of the helmet, why should the offensive player? Makes sense to me.

Because offensive players don't launch themselves to make tackles with their helmet. Dumb rule change.Sonofanump;1410995 wrote:OK, I've looked and the rule change, IMHO:

Launching is not a foul, it is an indicator of a type of action.Rotinaj;1411007 wrote:Because offensive players don't launch themselves to make tackles with their helmet. Dumb rule change.

Don't like the signing. Kellen Davis? Who? Might as well just draft a lineman and turn him into a TE. :thumbdown:

Kellen Davis is 6'7" and previously ran a 4.6. No TE thrives under Mike Martz. Chud loves making TE's a part of his offensive gameplan. The guy has the size, let's see if he can produce in an offense suited for his position. One thing that needs to change ASAP is his drops. He won't last the full season if that keeps up.

John St. Clair lasted a full season, I wont put it past any shitty player to last an entire season.

Don't know how he would kick under pressure, but some of that shit was damn impressive.bases_loaded;1411707 wrote:
Davis had 19 receptions all of last season. Jason Witten had 19 in one game.
