Clowney is also double teamed every play, he's basically going to wind up like Suh where his impact will come more from the attention he draws than his numbers

This statement couldn't be more inaccurate. Suh's final year at Nebraska he had 85tkls, 20.5 tackles for loss, and 12 sacks.....as a DT.Classyposter58;1533555 wrote:Clowney is also double teamed every play, he's basically going to wind up like Suh where his impact will come more from the attention he draws than his numbers

I was thinking the same thing lol. I remember Suh being an absolute beast his senior season. Clowney on the other hand makes maybe 1 play every few games and everyone is like "oh my god #1 draft pick"se-alum;1533564 wrote:This statement couldn't be more inaccurate. Clowney hasn't been double teamed much after the first couple games. There's an article out there about it, ill try to find it. Some teams have even put the tight end on him because he's been so selective with when he plays hard.

Why is he so butthurt?
Also, just some random thoughts...
I've pretty much accepted the fact that it will be FSU/Bama in the title game. Where does that leave OSU if they win out? I can see them playing an undefeated Baylor (of course, if they win out) in another BCS bowl...maybe the Fiesta? Although, I'm not sure if the selection committee would pass on them for the Rose Bowl bid.

This. Clowney is lazy. Suh is 10x the player Clowney is and I'll take Spence over Clowney as well.Midstate01;1533587 wrote:Clowney hasn't been double teamed much after the first couple games. I was talking about in the NFL. Nebraska that year also had Jared Crick who was a monster and Suh could do whateverse-alum;1533564 wrote:This statement couldn't be more inaccurate. Suh's final year at Nebraska he had 85tkls, 20.5 tackles for loss, and 12 sacks.....as a DT.

Well, to that point, if Clowney is just garnering attention in the NFL, and not making plays, he won't be in the NFL long. A DE's job is not to gain the attention of the opposing team, it's to go out and sack the QB, and if you don't do that, it's a short career. Suh's actual job is to eat up blockers, and make the occasional sack and tackle. Also, I would say that Suh was the monster, and Crick's success was largely based on the fact that it took 3 people to block Suh.Classyposter58;1533655 wrote:I was talking about in the NFL. Lonnie Johnson has decommitted from OSU. Admittedly, I have no idea who that is.

He was basically the 5th WR in the 2014 class, and OSU only loses Philly and Fields this year, so it seems like this was probably just to get earlier playing time. I don't blame him.WebFire;1534069 wrote:Lonnie Johnson has decommitted from OSU. Admittedly, I have no idea who that is.

The Lonnie Johnson situation is most likely mutual. It's good that he still has plenty of time to find another school.

Can you imagine DGB playing for the Bucks right now? I'm happy with the WRs we have now, but man if we had that weapon as well, Ohio State would average 80 points a game.
