Hannah has a good shot at the boys record of 1722 held by M. Denson. Also an outside shot at 2,000 points. Don't think anyone in the county has 2,000. A couple of WH girls have 2,000 but nobody in Wayne Co. that I know of. Chippewa's Haller & Smoot only got in the 1,700's. Marcie Alberts had 1695.

That is funny. 1700 points means someone AVERAGED 17 points a game from day 1 of their freshman year until the last game of their senior year. Quite the feat.

The fact that Hannah already is sitting at 1380 is a testament to her ability.

Simple...they're losing more games than they are winning!

You were obviously one of those guys that never paid attention!

LOL!!!

Like evry public school, talent comes and goes in cycles. Unfortunately, we are in the midst of the "down" cycle. Past history has shown that the Red Riders do not stay in the "down" cycle for very long. Just gotta be patient and support our young athletes and coaches and soon we will be on the "up" cycle... I hope!

If the team has a down season in basketball, will it be attributed to poor coaching the same way a down season in football was laid at the feet of coaching?

I'll be interested to read the pages and pages of discussion on this matter. LOL.

I believe the all time Wayne County scoring record is held by Ryan Berg from Dalton. I think he reached 2,000 points, but I'm not sure.

Berg had 1945. All-time area leader, but didn't get 2000.

Here's the list, current through the end of the 2011-12 season...courtesy of some self aggrandizing blogger.

PS - is your handle code for "killer crossover?" Creative if so.

I had no idea that list was on the web anywhere. Wow. Regardless of gender, Plybon could be passing some great names this year.

And yes.....it means killer crossover.

Final: West Holmes 64 - Orrville 32.

Riders led 13-9 after 1st quarter. End of 3rd it was 50-23 Knights. That's a 41-10 run over two quarters by WH. Yikes.

Series that is funny becasuse I was paying close attention. In Football it is the coach but in Basketball season it is because they "losing more than they are winning". That is a cop out and you know it! Just come out and say what you mean...You hate one coach for no reason and like another. The difference is that I and many others like both and Talent is down.

We've learned this during discussions in football and basketball over the last few years.

When I say what I see insofar as player skill and talent, I'm bashing, being negative, throwing under the bus, "kids"!
When I say what I see insofar as coaching skill and talent, I'm bashing, being negative, throwing under the bus, "the coaches"!

You're a Red Rider, you talk like you know sports, you tell us!

It is very easy to coach when you have talent. Talent is down, you say Sly's a good coach, we're going to find out just how good he is with mediocre talent and size!

So what do you think would be a successful season this year with the talent we have? Give us a record Ex.11-11 if he's a good coach with this talent or 8-14 if he's a good coach or 4-18 and winning two games in the tournament?
