Forgot about this. I've only ever bought it once, but it was definitely solid. Peatier than Oban, but it was smooth, and it didn't bite too bad.fish82;1295660 wrote:Island: Talisker

I was thinking the same thing.like_that;1294116 wrote:I know what you are trying to do with the thread title, but legit question, do big whiskey fans have a snob culture (similar to beer snobs)?
I never got that vibe from whiskey fans.

I joined caskers.com a few days ago because my first birchbox came with a $10 gift card. It's a site that you can purchase small batch spirits, sorta like jackthreads for booze. Anyway, today I get an email that I can buy Rogue Dead Guy Whiskey and that really piqued my interest. Anyone had it or even know that Rogue made whiskey?

It doesn't seem to get the greatest reviews. I think it is only aged a month or so.

I've been on a kick lately where I've been trying a bunch of the Honey Whiskeys.
I like the Wild Turkey American Honey the best. Bushmills Irish Honey isn't bad. I think the Jack Tennessee Honey tastes like shit.
Someone gave me a bottle of Woodford Reserve for my birthday and I enjoy sipping on that from time to time.
I'll admit though, I don't know enough about Whiskey. I am much more of a fan of drinking beers.

Another recommendation: High West Double Rye. Made in Utah at a ski-in distillery. Delicious stuff.

btw, if anyone is interested in an invite to caskers I think I've got 25. I get no sort of referral for it so you don't have to worry about me getting any sort of benefit from it. I know none of you have any interest in benefiting me in any way.

Actually, just use "birchbox" as the invite code.

I signed up, but Whiskey didn't automatically arrive. Wat kind of scam is this?

FYI, I don't want to immediately trash your newfound website justin, but anyone buying should definitely shop around if they have good shops in their area. Caskers has the Rogue Dead Guy Whiskey for $46.99, I can get it for $29.99 at my local shop (albeit a local shop with great selection)

Being a lawyer I'm surprised you don't already drink at least a fifth a night.fan_from_texas;1298994 wrote:I want to start drinking whiskey. What should I do? How should I start?
