They had to change it to make more room for hardware changes inside the phone. (ie. bigger battery)

Naturally. Can't make it easy to switch from Motorola to Apple. Then, the person might not need to buy the Apple accessories.WebFire;1271613 wrote:And of course they make it a proprietary adaoptor/port.

LOL Verizon only valued my Thunderbolt at $52 and it is pristine...Looks like I made the right choice(iPhone 5) in phone when it comes to resale value.Crimson streak;1271809 wrote:I turned in my old 3GS that was broken for a 60 visa gift card at target last night.

Who cares if it's slightly lighter and thinner? A sensible person is still going to put the bulky case on it anyways and negate that.justincredible;1270295 wrote:Except that it's a bigger screen, lighter, thinner, and has LTE.

Are cases going to be heavier and thicker for the 5 than for the 4 and 4S?friendfromlowry;1271887 wrote:Who cares if it's slightly lighter and thinner? A sensible person is still going to put the bulky case on it anyways and negate that.

Jessica and I both have HTC phones and the charging ports are different.wes_mantooth;1271435 wrote:I def am not an iPhone fan, but everyone including android has changed their adapters. I have had android phones since the G1 was released and the chargers have changed at least 3 times. These companies want to keep people buying accessories.

Maybe so...But I'm able to charge my Rezound with my old Droid micro-usb, and even a BB charger. But usually I need the stock HTC cord to connect to my computer (when I do that, I usually do wireless file transfer).wes_mantooth;1272183 wrote:Yeah and actually the htc rezound that I have uses a funky micro usb that won't fit in other electronics

I tried to use my rezound charger on my nexus 7...no go. Not sure why they made it different

True, the Rezound micro-usb is proprietary. However, other micro-USB's work on the Rezound, at least to charge (not sure about data transfer/tethering).wes_mantooth;1272425 wrote:I tried to use my rezound charger on my nexus 7...no go. Not sure why they made it different
It just helps if you travel to reduce the number of cords you have to take. The actual cable seems to work with other adapters, as well. I think my car charger, for example, is a universal micro-usb and it works on the Rezound.

yeah, I have never used it for video out...but I think that I read somewhere that the rezound cord may support hd video out...not positive thoughgut;1272791 wrote:True, the Rezound micro-usb is proprietary. Took it in to target and went to electronics. Told the guy I wanted to trade in my phone. He needed the model number and it told him a value. He gives the money to you on a gift card for target and then you go to the front and buy the visa gift card at the register with the target gift card
