Let me get this straight. If I get a basement ban I can come to the basement and bitch and it will be lifted. Wow way to moderate guys. If you're gonna ban someone to the basement stick to it don't second guess your decision. People will bitch about it even if its a minor name calling.

So, someone infracted a poster based on their interpretation of the post. The mods discussed the post and came to the conclusion that the original interpretation was incorrect and overturned the infraction. This is worse than agreeing that the infraction was not warranted but still saying "fuck you, we're not correcting it because us mods stick together!"

Weren't people bitching about the mods discussing every post before they infract? Now, this isn't good enough?

If you're looking for a perfect system, you're not going to find it.

It's more that they're not on the same page - one mod infracted and banned hoops and other then said, nahh it wasn't that bad. So now, some mods have more say than other mods, at least thats what it looks like.

Maybe I'll tip them so i get better service.

What it sounded like to me was a group of mods decided it wasn't that bad.

That wouldn't make sense because a tip isn't meant to receive better service. A tip is used to judge value on the service you have already received.

My head hurts from reading this. Bottom line, OC is running a fine line ATM. Wants to clean things up a bit so we don't read 40 pages of posters going at it, but also want teh lulz to continue, just in a less thread derailment way. Going to take some growing pains. I think some common sense and poster history need to come into play here. Hoops, an all pwn team member, great poster etc... should garner some credibility on here esp considering how long he's been on here. To ban him for liberal trash comment (esp when its true lolz) should not be a basement ban. Thats fucking Cry4Fail territory right there. Glad it was reversed. I'm just glad the OC mods aren't all like Cry4Fail who would refuse to aknowledge his fail and correct it. Props to the mods for reversing that.

I think CoA is right. It's a fine line and it hasn't all been ironed out yet. But some of the infractions that have been handed out are pretty fucking ticky tack.

And the mods all interpret them in different ways and then undermine each other. Basically - if a mod does something, another mod shouldn't come in and say they were wrong. The rules dont bug me much. I know the written and the unwritten ones and follow them the best I can. I have been warned and deserved it. I think with it being so relaxed for so long people are just used to it. In the beginning anything was fine with the few exceptions revealing someones identity and no nudity. I understand both sides cause I love to say GFY and call people names just like the next guy. I also understand jj i mean justins side. He wants to grow the forum and to do so, rules will have to be enforced which will piss some people off.
