Americans better study the Jamaicans. After sweeping all the medals last Olympics in the 400m, USA does not qualify one to the finals in 2012.

They have to constantly run from wild animals.

No he's just known for getting caught. I was hoping he'd be able to get the silver, but oh well.

Do the Americans have a chance in the men's 4x100? It looked like Asafa Powell of Jamaica pulled up lame in the 100- maybe they aren't as deep as the Americans.

You'll just think you are running faster than you really are.

Just curious, but why do you think Wariner used PEDs? He won gold, then 4 years later a silver. He did train with Michael Johnson's trainer for the gold I believe. It's no like he should have been expected to make it 3 straight Olympics?

We had a dude pull up lame, which doesn't help.
But, I feel the U.S. has really stunk in the 400 lately.

Not sure if anybody else was aware or not, but the longer it takes the judges to determine a gymnast's score, the more deductions. It's a new thing that just started.

I missed the women's final somehow and just watched it online and it sucked.
Like you, I'm watching it all in prime time. I'd rather watch it on a giant TV on delay than on a smart phone. I'm probably among the small margin of people who actually appreciates the way NBC decided to broadcast the Olympics.

I don't need to see it live for it to be exciting. Who gives a fuck. "When I see it for the first time" is my definition of "live."

Kirani James....43.94 to win the 400...at 19.

This kid may be the first to ever touch a score in the 42s.

He is very impressive!

The strength needed on the rings is just silly.

Your looking at it horribly wrong. They would obviously show it live on NBC.

Plus, the way they are showing it, we are getting ONLY the races/competitions, essentially. I love that, but they can still do that in primetime like they are while showing a true broadcast, with more announcing and backstories. That, and showing all the stuff, not just the American part of it. NBC is getting great ratings, but I dont doubt they could be getting those same ratings (or close) in primetime while at LEAST doubling the daytime ratings by switching this up.

If you are busy and dont wanna know what happens, you will wait till primetime, just like you are now.

But seriously, I agree with everything you said. Not showing the men's 100m final live was ridiculous. Couldn't believe it.

Yeah....show everything live...I'd have my schedule to watch....but money wise they have to have the men's 100m final in the evening. It's huge.

I've went 3 straight days not knowing the big stuff and it's been fun to watch on a bit of a fast forward as I am also watching the Reds games.

To each their own. I don't really ever watch anything on my phone/computer.

You make a good argument.

But, being one of those people you categorize as unable to watch during the day, I am fine with how NBC is currently broadcasting the games and actually prefer to stay "in the dark" and wait to watch the delay. My previous post was more or less just in response to another poster who earlier acted as if not watching "live" is somehow less enjoyable, which is not the case at all. If you have no idea what is going to happen, who cares if you are watching it on delay. It's essentially no different than watching live.

I have enjoyed the replays in prime time, I don't have time to watch events live. The synopsis format of the prime time coverage works best for me. I get to see the main events.
