So since we got married and are raising our children in a different town than either of us grew up in, that deems us "creepy"??? We've been a Cavalier for almost 22 years but since it's not our alma mater, we're "creepy??? Disagree.
We have lots of friends in the community that we see at these games as well.
After moving to a town, a social event like HS sports could be a place, but not the only place, to meet new people...especially in a small town. Our games have large variety of ages that attend. We've even had people from outside our league that come and watch because they said they just enjoy good HS football. Sorry, maybe we just live in a less paranoid area but I'm usually into the game rather than trying to determine who's who. At most of our league games, a good portion of the kids, especially boys, are playing smear the ***** or just plain runnin' around with basically no supervision. At times the AD may tell them to stop...usually after someone gets hurt. My son actually broke his arm doing this. Part of growing up. Glad the Cavs had a comfortable lead.
Again, I don't see a problem with a person who enjoys HS sports, to watch HS sports.
