That's a crushing loss for Oakland. Unfortunately for them, they play at New York and then at Texas for 4. They finish with Seattle at home, but the Mariners aren't a pushover the way they have played for the last 3 months.

The Angels get Chicago the next 2 at home, host Seattle for 3 and then go at Texas. However, expect the Rangers to have home field clinched in the AL by next Friday, especially if they take that series against Oakland. That might make the timing of facing them on the weekend as opposed to starting the week huge. Don't count the Angels out. I think they end up sneaking in.

Adam Dunn down 3-1 hit 2 HR and led the Sox to the huge 5-4 win.

Jon Jay just made a catch so good in CF that the Houston fans gave him a standing ovation.

Three of them were homeless people looking for a place to rest for a few hours.

Braves clinch a playoff spot on a Freeman 2 run walk off HR after Chipper lead off with a double.

The Nats magic number is still 5. I would not be shocked the Braves make it very close at the end. The Nats have been eh lately. Not great, just good. They are losing to the Phillies, which have the Nats number lately.

Nats have the more difficult schedule. Going to St Louis this weekend who is fighting for a spot and finishing up with i think the Phillies. Braves have Mets and pirates after Miami.

Yeah, and given the Nats troubles with the Phillies, and the Phillies would love more than anything to deny the division to the Nats. The Nats need to clinch before it gets to that last series.

O's lose to the Jays, while the Yanks are up.
I have a feeling the Bucktruck has lost some steam.
The O's should still get a wildcard, just not the division.

St. Louis may have it clinched. They should sweep Houston and be up at least 4.5-5 games by Friday.

Very random....Nick Punto has scored 4 runs in the first 6 innings for the Dodgers

Which is insane considering they score about 4 runs a week as a team.

Some pretty stupid stats on Kimbrel:

16.2 K's per 9 IP, best in MLB history
.129 OPP avg, lowest since 1900
.367 OPP ops, lowest in expansion era
0.67 WHIP, best by NL reliever since 1900
49.3% of batters faced struck out, best in live ball era

He also hasn't given up more than one hit in any appearance this year and struck out 4 Marlins in the 9th inning tonight.

Sox lose again.

Tigers will win the central by at least 3 games

:(

My g/f is a big Sox fan and her bday is the day the Sox would host a playoff game...now I actually have to think about what I'm going to get her.

Both a vacuum and apron. When something is potentially this disappointing for a person, you don't want to go cheap.
