Could be last year's Cardinals

There's usually 1 team that comes from nowhere and makes a strong early September run...then falls off the last 2 weeks or so of the season. That's the Phillies this year.

Agreed. That is if they make it. I doubt they do, but if they do, pencil them in to the NLCS.

On the AL Side, the O's win again in extras over the Rays in extras. The O's make no sense, but keep winning. The DC/Maryland area has some great baseball right now.
I really hope they can continue this throughout the month and knock the Yanks from the division.

Really hoping for a beltway series lol.

That would be pretty cool to see.

You likely won't make the 25 man roster.

Hope this helps.

Edwin Encarnacion hit his 40th HR of the year today.

I still can't fathom it...

He didn't hit 40 in his career in Cincy.

Normally I'd bitch, but the Reds ARE 87-57...

Cueto is 3rd in the NL in ERA
Arroyo is 20th in the NL in ERA
Latos is 21st in the NL in ERA
Bailey is 34th in the NL in ERA

Interestingly enough, Kyle Lohse is 4th, Aaron Harang is 26th, Edinson Volquez is 40th.

The Reds have the best player in the NL in Joey Votto, who won't be MVP eligible because of the injury. Go figure, because they are very likely to win at least one of two, or both, the ROY and Cy Young. Dusty Baker is a lock for top 2 in MOY.

Cubs/Pirates just getting under way....lol

There can't be more than a thousand people there I'm guessing, even for wrigley.

Tigers are 7-8 in September, but pitchers have lowest ERA of any team but LA Angels. Also they are 2-13 in last 15 one run games....hitting and defense have failed the Tigers this year-not the pitching staff.

Yunel Escobar (Blue Jays) is suspended 3 games.

Why, you ask? The dipshit had "you are a ******" (filtered word is a gay slur beginning with an F) in Spanish written on his eye black on Saturday.

Miguel Cabrera, with his 3/4...2 HR...6RBI day now sits at:

.333 (1st)
129 RBI (1st)
40 HR (2nd...Hamilton has 42)

I think he is the choice for MVP, with Trout second. But what are the chances he wins the Triple Crown? He is on an absolute tear right now.

Cabrera is seeing everything perfect right now. Buster Olney reported today rumors that the Tigers are interested in going after Josh Hamilton. Could you imagine that lineup if that happens...

Jackson
Dirks
Cabrera
Hamilton
Fielder
V. Martinez
Infante
Avila
Peralta

And they would still have the same problems of this year. Good pitching beats good hitting every time. The tigers need to go out and get good starting pitcher to compliment verlander

That would be sick. I think Hamilton is in for a BIG TIME down year (injury or otherwise), but when over the course of his contract, you would see some runs scored.

I think they've got it, problem is it's not consistent enough. I will say Cabrera is putting on quite a push for the MVP and for the Tigers playoffs hopes. 6 HR's in the last 5 games? He's absolutely crushing it and I think will get the triple crown. No way does he not get the MVP if he achieves that.

If he finishes the year with a .333 avg, 208 hits, 44 HR and 142 RBI which he is just 18 hits, 3 HR and 14 RBI away he'll be the first guy to achieve those numbers since Joe DiMaggio in 1937

If Cabrera can get the Triple Crown, he is the MVP, no doubt.

On another note, the Nats, just punched their tickets to the playoffs. Drew Storen looks sick on the save.
Playoff baseball is in DC.

What a story for the Nats. A team that is still second fiddle in town.

Sure, kick us while you are down! haha.

On a side note, I picked up Chipper Jones in my fantasy league and will start him next week because he is playing the Mets, automatic 2 HRs in the bag for sure.

3 run 9th for the Brewers beats Washington. 1.5 back of St. Louis now for the last wildcard.
