Why are you okay with murder in one direction and not the other? Seems sort of hypocritical. Christianity and Islam are both worthless entirely and have no place in a rational and civilized world.

That's not to say all Christians or Muslims are stupid or bad people either but that the ideals and beliefs contained in both of their holy books are not based on any kind of rationality or morality.

Again, like Footwedge asks, why do you not apply the same reasoning to Muslims who do terrible things in Iraq/Afghanistan that you do to Bales? (That it was simply the stress and that killing innocents isn't part of their religion). They've seen their families and countries bombed and killed for 10 years and yet you envision them the devil if they should ever succumb to the stress like your murderer-cum-hero Bales. Look at something objectively for one time in your life.

To be clear, I think Islam is completely incorrect just as I do Christianity and I find the social ideals of some of the middle eastern countries in regards to tolerance of all sorts to be abhorrent but I think that's more of a byproduct of their government systems and socioeconomic factors than directly attributed to their religion.

The major cause of stress was removed by American service people making the sacrifice to serve multiple tours.

I am not ok with murder but looking for explanations. Just looking for explanations. I would think the life of Christ would serve as an example of morality for his followers, while the life of the Prophet would lead you into Al Queda and the Taliban.

Muslims in fact had what should their greatest source of stress removed with the removal of the oppressive, mass murdering Taliban regime. They had been killed in far greater numbers by the Taliban than anything since. Women and minorities had some rights and protections.
A basic difference between Christianity and Islam is in their founders. If Christians look to their founder as an example they see a man of peace and social justice. If Muslims look to their founder as an example they see a conqueror who spread his faith by conquest and used assassination and genocide. Bales, if guilty was not acting like Christ, the Taliban is models the behavior of the Prophet.
