Regarding mowing the lawn, yes I have it mowed. I pay a lawn company to mow it. I certainly have better things to do than mow it myself. The question would be then, why? The small area around the house that's still grass enables me to keep the wild animals from nesting and habitating too close to the house. It's not a large area but none the less I'd rather keep snakes, small critters and rodents from nesting right next to the dwelling. It's a buffer between their home and mine. It' more sanitary and healthy if we live apart. It's appearance is irrelevant. Mowing doesn't take place for aesthetics. It's just not important to worry about it.
