His MMA career was over when he lost to Overeem by death kick after he had abdominal surgery for diverticulitis.

He was never coming back, it was hyped up rumors to get more money out of WWE.

As great an athlete as he was, that stomach illness and surgery was going to cost him his MMA career no matter what. He just couldn't take a shot to the body at all anymore.

The enhanced steroid testing was the final nail of an already shut coffin IMO.

Yeah, after going through diverticulitis, I'd guess it really wasn't a tough choice to decide to work staged fights, especially since he's had a sweet-ass deal where he gets paid a lot without having to deal with all the "being on the road constantly" stuff that pro wrestlers live through due to only being contracted for a limited number of appearances per year, as well as only being in a few high-profile matches, which means much less wear-and-tear.

Nice little card this weekend on FS1. Mendes/Lamas is a big time fight, and I like watching Iaquinta, Masvidal, and Poirier. Guida and Maynard are other names on the card.

Does UFC do fightpass only shows anymore? I cancelled my subscription a while ago, and I don't think I have missed a single card that I remember because of it.

Yes but they haven't had one yet this year, I believe the next one is the Poland show with Cro crop and Gonzaga.

Anyone else been watching the aldo/mcgregor embedded episodes? I don't know how Aldo puts up with all that shit talking. I think if anyone can beat Aldo it's McGregor. He has the size and the striking and it looks like he's doing his best to get Aldo to fight with emotion when they get in the cage.

Reminds me if Sonnen vs Silva.

I don't see Conor dominating Aldo at all, but he has a solid punchers chance. He is going to get hit a lot more than Aldo, but he might just be the guy who can beat Aldo by taking 3 to land 1.

I give McGregor a lot more than a punchers chance. He's large, hits hard, and has great technique, not to mention he has what, 4-6in reach advantage?

Conor is the biggest threat that Aldo has faced imo. Did anyone catch that presser in Dublin, Ireland today? Pure fucking madness, never seen anything like it.

His strategy to get under Aldo's skin has to be working. I want to see McGregor back up his mountains of shit talk, but I also want to see him get KTFO ha. If he beats Aldo I think they should immediately book him to fight for the LW title.

If he beats Aldo I'd like to see a rematch at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland. 80,000 seats, they would sell that out and it would be an insane environment. I could see them throwing him right in the mix at 155 thought like you said.

Where/what are all these videos that everyone is referring to? If everyone's like "Did you see, Did you see"... why don't you help everyone out and just copy & paste the video that you want us all to see to the thread like Pick6 did for us all?

Part of me enjoys/appreciates McGregor and his antics, and then the other part of me is like I hope he gets his face smashed in.
