Who else is loving the format of this season's Ultimate Fighter?! I think I like the Blackzilians a little better than American Top Team, but man... I can't help but look at Glenn Robinson and think immediately of John du Pont. The first episode of this season's TUF just seemed like Glenn Robinson was DYING for the camera's attention (much like du Pont dying to be recognized for greatness).
Dan Lambert just seems like more of a man's man; whereas Robinson seems more like a manufactured kind of guy.
Should be a great season!

I like the new format, adds a new element and more intensity.

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the point scoring. Not sure how they came up with that - seems quite arbitrary. I know, I know... keeping "points" keeps it competitive and 'more fun'... but I just feel like... if a Team wins 3 of the last 4 fights (300 pts), 2 of the '2nd Rd' fights (100 pts), and loses all of the opening round fights (0 pts, for a grand total of 400 pts)... are they really that better than the other team that won all 4 opening round fights (100 pts), 2 2nd round fights (100), and only 1 third round fight (100 pts, for a grand total of 300 pts)? Idk. Just seems kinda cheesy to me. But I think I prefer this format more than the previous formats they've done, where frequently you would have 1 "Team" with all the remaining fighters left in the bracket, and the other team with only 1 guy left. No one likes seeing guys fighting their own guys from their own team; unless there's a genuine dislike between the two guys.

I've seen on past show's where guys don't want to fight someone on their "team" and i think they're idiots. The show only has 1 winner and your "team" is just who you happened to be coached by. It really doesn't make sense to me considering only 1 person can win the contract. I've never been a huge fan of TUF and for the most part think it's run it's course.Scarlet_Buckeye;1723908 wrote:Completely agree.

There are some CRAZY rumors about Jon Jones on twitter right now. Supposedly ran a red light, crashed into a pregnant woman's car under the influence. Took off on foot, cocaine found in the car.

Can't seem to tell if it's true or not.

The Albuquerque Police Department announced they are looking for UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones.
Rumors swirled yesterday about the UFC Champions involvement in a potential hit and run yesterday. Now many of those rumors have been confirmed.
The UFC released the following statement about Jon Jones:
"We are aware that the Albuquerque Police Department is interested in speaking to Jon Jones regarding his possible involvement in a motor vehicle accident. We are in the process of gathering facts and will reserve further comment until more information is available."
The Police report indicates Jones wrecked a rental car that had his information in it. He was seen fleeing the vehicle, then returned, grabbed cash and ran away once again. Officers found a marijuana pipe with marijuana inside of it in Jones' rental car. The officers looked for Jones but were unsuccessful in finding him. The police officers narrative report regarding Jones' car accident is available. Here's the transcript from the ABQ Police Dept:
"On 04/26/2015, OFC. J. Brionez and I were dispatched to a hit and run traffic accident, at the intersection of Juan Tabo and Southern. Caller stated the driver of a silver SUV ran from the accident. OFC. Brionez and I arrived, with rescue arriving on scene shortly thereafter. The driver of both vehicles refused rescue. The driver of the Honda stated her husband will take her. Driver one stated she was heading East in lane 2, and was crossing through Juan Tabo on a green light, when driver 3 ran the light hitting her on the driver side. Driver 2 stated he was waiting at a red light facing North of Juan Tabo and Southern. Driver 2 stated when driver 1 was crossing on a green light, driver 3 turned into her from the southbound turn lane of Southern hitting her driver side. Witnesses and drivers from both vehicles stated driver of vehicle 3 got out and left running. Witnesses stated the driver of vehicle 3, exited after hitting the Honda and was identified as a black male, wearing a white button up shirt with dark pants, and ran onto a hill just east of the accident. Witnesses stated he slouched over and ran back to the vehicle grabbing a large handful of cash. Witnesses stated he shoved the cash into his pants and ran north jumping the fence in Terracita.
I sent officers to attempt to locate the driver of vehicle 3. The officers who attempted to look for him were unsuccessful. Driver 1 was taken to Kaseman hospital due to being pregnant an feeling like she was going to pass out. OFC. Brionez and I conducted a search incident to tow on the Buick. OFC. Brionez found a marijuana pipe, with marijuana inside it and tagged it into the evidence. I located paperwork belonging to a Jonathan Jones, which had MMA information on it from the state of Nevada. I was able to locate a phone number for Jon Jones and placed several phone calls with no success. I left a message for Jon Jones to call dispatch, but never received one. The paperwork will be tagged into evidence. There was also Enterprise Rent-A-Car paperwork inside the vehicle, for the location of Lomas and Easterday. I made contact with an unidentified employee, who stated they were closed and not open until Monday. I was contacted by OFC . J. Sullivan, who informed me he was driving east on Southern and seen the accident, off duty. OFC. Sullivan stated he witnessed Jonathan Jones the MMA fighter exit the silver Buick and run up a dirt hill just east. OFC. Sullivan stated Jon Jones was wearing a white nice Polo shirt, with dark slacks or jeans. OFC. Sullivan stated he watched Jon Jones run back the Buick and lost sight of him at that point."

Wow can't believe they actually stripped him of the title. All that work down the drain, title defense streak broken.

Clearly just can't handle the money and fame. His brothers seems like class acts which is another reason it's kinda surprising.robj55;1725042 wrote:Wow can't believe they actually stripped him of the title. All that work down the drain, title defense streak broken.

DC/Cormier winner will be a paper champ, and everyone will know it. If Jones can get it together his comeback fight will be huge.

I also agree - it's the same with the welterweight division. Does anyone really think GSP wouldn't still be champ?

Yet if Cormier wins, then what? Jones vs Cormier again? With Cormier the champ? It wouldn't be right.

You know what else isn't right? Most likely driving under the influence and then running from the scene of a crime. Jones is a great fighter, but he's always come off as an asshole. I hope he gets his shit together, having guys like him and GSP out aren't great for the sport. They're easily the two most marketable people for the UFC.Azubuike24;1725064 wrote:Yet if Cormier wins, then what? Jones vs Cormier again? With Cormier the champ? It wouldn't be right.

GSP out
Silva was out for a long time and might only have 1 or 2 fights left in him...
The 3 biggest draws in the UFC over the last 5+ years are not currently fighting (well Silva is technically)...not good for the UFC financially for sure.

Rousey/McGregor are probably the best draws the UFC has now.
