Machida did too little too late. Gave away the first 2 rounds by constantly moving backwards and landing half as many shots then got beat in the 3rd. I had it 49-46 Weidman, thought Machida won the 4th.

Rousey is basically Tyson, everyone is afraid of her and no one can compete with her.

She's not afraid of Rousey, it's the other way around.

RDI do you think that was a fight of the year candidate? Good fight. Yes FOTY. Not even close. The 4th round was great but that fight needed at least 2 more rounds like that to be close to FOTY.

I would say say you summed up the fight perfectly above.

Rousey has 3 women left to fight right now. She needs to face Holly Holm, Cat Zingano, and cyborg. If she beats those 3 the UFC has to hope someone else emerges for her to fight. BTW is she using Judo throws on these girls on was that just a really vicious head and arm.

I'm sure the UFC will also try and throw Gina Carano against Rousey but that's most likely a waste of time.

BTW extremely close is a huge overstatement about the first two rounds. In those two rounds he out struck him a combined 2-1 in sign strikes. Then you have to also look at the takedowns Weidman had. Your Machida homerism is coming through if you thought those were close.

Can Cyborg cuts to 135? Doubt it. And no way she doesn't get tossed. I'm taking Rousey against any woman on the planet.

He tried to counter too much in the first few rounds and it did cost him, but that's his game. He sits back and analyzes his opponent and gets their timing down and tries to knock them out, he landed good shots in those rounds just not enough of them. I thought he won the 4th and 5th rounds, Weidman had the first three. Lyoto is the only guy that can beat Weidman imo, Vitor will get wrestled and quit, bank on it.

Honestly I think Ronda would whoop her ass, just a different level athlete. And Cyborg is a cheat, can't support that although I'd still like to see the fight.

The fifth round was awesome too, lots of momentum swings. Rousey would beat Holly Holm in under a minute imo, she has no chance grappling with her. Zingano is a big girl and may be able to match he strength wise and is a good striker. Cyborg is a man lol

The second round was razor thin until the late take down imo, that sealed it for Weidman. Either way that was extremely high level MMA. When MMA is at it's best like that with two exceptional athletes and fighters it
s basically untouchable compared to other sports imo.

One fight was missing, Ronda crushing Davis in 15 seconds, and the first two fights were boring. Hall basically toyed with the cat he fought and still only won by decision. Weidman and Machida was good but other than that it was a bad ppv. No where near worth 45 bucks. It happens.

As far as the hate on women's MMA and Alexis Davis, she had won 5 in a row and hadn't been finished in 6 years. She has good stand up and a black belt on the ground, Ronda is just a whole different animal and caliber athlete than these girls. I compared her to Rocye Gracie when he first burst on the scene, just ahead of the curve. It's going to take a few years for these girls to catch up and for better caliber athletes to get into the sport.

I just dont know about the women's division. At this point I'm only interested in Cyborg vs Rousey.

It's still fun to watch an amazing athlete compete and dominate.

No Way was the second round close. Weidman landed as many significant strikes (14) as Machida threw. It was 14-5 in significant strikes and Weidman had the takedown. Weidman was also the fighter pushing forward and controlling the octagon. If would take a terrible judge to score that round for Machida. The first and 5th were closer with the fifth probably being decided by that final takedown.

BTW Cyborg has made 135 in either her last fight or last 2. I know she made 135 for a Muay Thai bout and said it was the easiest weight cut she has ever had. I also am pretty sure her next invitia fight is at 135. I know Dana White has said he wants her to make 135 3 or 4 times cleanly before he trusts her.

Anyone notice Dana White look pissed when Joe Rogan asked Rhonda if she would fight on the August 2 card.

All significant strikes aren't created equal. Don't go by fight metric always, their definition of a significant strike is an strike landed at range, in the clinch or on the ground. That means you could land a weak leg kick and it would be the same as a hard straight left on the jaw? I gave Weidman the first three rounds and Lyoto the last two. Lyoto cost himself by being too patient early on and studying Weidman instead of making him pay like he did the last two rounds. I understand why people want to see Cyborg fight Ronda because she could possibly challenge her but do we forget how big of a cheat she is?

I don't think there is any woman who wouldn't get judo tossed by Ronda. She will get a hold of Cyborg, she will toss her like a doll, and she will break her arm.

If Lyoto fought the first 3 rounds like he did the 4th, he's wearing the belt. Sitting back and giving away rounds is ridiculous. I'd understand if he's a slow starter like Cerrone, who gets closed to KO'd before he gets into a fight, but he's not.

Also, read on MMA Junkie Dana wasn't pissed at Joe, he was pissed at the production crew who told Joe to offer Ronda the fight.

It's a shame. I think Juliana Pena vs Rousey would be a good fight.

I don't think people understand that Lyoto uses the first round plus to study and time his opponent, then attacks. He admitted this that he basically takes the entire first round to get the timing of his opponent down which is why he gets better in each round of every fight. Can he fix that, I don't know. If he had started earlier and not given away the first three rounds he probably beats Weidman, but it won't be easy.
