What's a little ridiculous is this is the only card on fight pass this month, which means it's $10 to watch a card that most people wouldn't tune into if it were free. I saw that on MMA junkie. I'd consider fight pass if it were like xbox live, $60 for a year.robj55;1630951 wrote:Yeah that card is entirely for that market and that's okay. I'll catch it later on fight pass because there are a few fights I wanna see(Hioki vs Oliveira)

Deadspin article about the UFC expansion and watered down cards. I personally do think they have a problem with not replacing Chuck, GSP, Lesnar and Anderson. Bones/Rousey are probably the biggest stars but just aren't drawing like those other fighters.

fight pass is actually a pretty good deal imo, you get fight pass cards, the full library, invicta is coming to it, also they are talking about adding metamoris and some wrestling events on there as well.Raw Dawgin' it;1630966 wrote:What's a little ridiculous is this is the only card on fight pass this month, which means it's $10 to watch a card that most people wouldn't tune into if it were free. I think there is more talent overall now but there are also more shows and more exposure. Some fans are choosing not to buy or watch the PPV's because they can get 2 or 3 other free shows for free. If they cut back on the number of shows and absolutely loaded the PPV's up they would give it more of a spectacle feel to it imo and they would be viewed as bigger stars. PPV is down across the board right now everywhere.Zoltan;1630985 wrote:Deadspin article about the UFC expansion and watered down cards. I agree the talent is certainly better, but that doesn't really help the UFC draw and get ratings. Personalities tend to be more important in that regard. I don't think Chuck would be a top LW right now, but he was a huge draw. Mick Foley actually makes this point in his wrestling book, about how fans would go absolutely nuts watching the Undertaker walk on the top rope once a year, and basically sleep through the Mexican wrestlers doing triple backflips etc. People care more about who is fighting, then how they are fighting alot of times.robj55;1631001 wrote:I think there is more talent overall now but there are also more shows and more exposure. Yeah I agree, there is also more exposure to these fighters now through social media and what not and you can't make a better judgement on if you like a fighter or not. I wish they would do less PPV's and put all the best fights and stars on them and give them that big feel again, without that it's going to be hard to build stars imo. You need a spectacle to occur then for stars to be born out of that.Zoltan;1631020 wrote:I agree the talent is certainly better, but that doesn't really help the UFC draw and get ratings. Yeah he was out then woke back up when he hit the mat, ref was too indecisive.Fab1b;1631241 wrote:Horrible stoppage in the Bedford fight!

Chael failed ANOTHER drug test, this time popped for HGH, HCG and EPO.

Swanson beats Stephens by decision in a very good and competitive fight, could be next for winner of Aldo/Mendes. Kelvin Gastelum looked impressive as well after losing the first round.

It will be interesting to see how the NSAC handles this and to see how Chael spins it. He keep saying it was out of competition but he was scheduled to fight in a month, he was cheating.IggyPride00;1631357 wrote:A lifetime ban needs to happen. Put him out of his own misery.

The whole out of competition excuse is such a joke too. Basically like saying, "I was only blood doping/using HGH during training for my fight when I get the maximum benefit, so it shouldn't count." He is life long cheat, and should be banished from the UFC including media work, but it won't happen.robj55;1631496 wrote:It will be interesting to see how the NSAC handles this and to see how Chael spins it. Yeah I agree, can you imagine ESPN having Lance Armstrong as a cycling analyst? What a joke that would be.Zoltan;1631558 wrote:The whole out of competition excuse is such a joke too. I watched that yesterday, he looked out of it for a second but came right back. This is always a grey area, but technically the fight should be stopped if the guy is unconscious for any length of time. I think stars get some special treatment in this scenario. For instance, Hendo for sure went a little limp vs Shogun in the second fight. And they were showing highlights of Franklin vs. Wand II and rich was totally KO'd by a punch in that fight, falls back and hits his head, and then recovers like two seconds later. It should have been stopped, but he came back and won the fight.robj55;1631243 wrote:Yeah he was out then woke back up when he hit the mat, ref was too indecisive.

Yeah I agree with everything you said. I think it was how indecisive the ref was about it. He jumped in there like he was going to stop in then didn't, then did.Zoltan;1631620 wrote:I watched that yesterday, he looked out of it for a second but came right back. I'm a Machida fan but I'm not as confident as you are lol I think it's basically a pick em fight, can see either guy winning.bigdaddy2003;1631772 wrote:I can't wait to see Machida beat Weidman.

Yeah no idea what to expect out of this fight. Weidman doesn't seem super impressive but yet he dominates people. The only result here that would shock is Machida by submission. Anything else in play.robj55;1631941 wrote:I'm a Machida fan but I'm not as confident as you are lol I think it's basically a pick em fight, can see either guy winning.

I asked about 10 of my buddies on Facebook who they thought would win. Every one of them said Weidman.
