Jacare is a tremendous athlete, but Gegard will kill him int he stand up if it plays out there. I think it's a close fight, Gegard has a tremendous ground game as well. Should be interesting.Raw Dawgin' it;1627523 wrote:Jacare has a great stand up game to go with his ground game now - I don't see him losing. I actually think he can beat Weidman if healthy.

Why does everyone assume if a fight stays on the feet Gegard will murder people? Granted I haven't seen all of his fights, but I have seen probably 8 of his last 10 and have never been too impressed with his stand up. He has actually looked better on the ground. People get a little carried away with the "this guy has K1 experience" thing way too much. It should be a good fight with Jacare for sure.robj55;1627529 wrote:Jacare is a tremendous athlete, but Gegard will kill him int he stand up if it plays out there. He went toe to toe with Lyoto and did pretty well, and he is very technical. Maybe murdered was a strong word but Gegard is certainly a better striker than Jacare is, has way more experience there. If Jacare wins does he leap frog Vitor for number one contender?Zoltan;1627566 wrote:Why does everyone assume if a fight stays on the feet Gegard will murder people? I talked to Palmer a few months ago. He told me he sign either a 4 or 6 fight contract with WSOF. I think this was his second or third fight there.

So Lombard out and Woodley in to fight Don Hyon Kim. Quick turn around could be really good for Woodley to get back in the mix. Win this fight and 1 more and he could be getting a title shot.

But seriously I never understood the Woodley hype, he had some of the worst performances I've ever seen in Strikeforce. He really only has a right hand and has terrible cardio.

because he dominated Koshchek and was on his way to dominating Condit. He's feast or famine.robj55;1629393 wrote:But seriously I never understood the Woodley hype, he had some of the worst performances I've ever seen in Strikeforce. He really only has a right hand and has terrible cardio.

Koscheck has been out of his prime for probably 3 years now, the Condit fight he landed a big right hand and two take downs, other than that nothing happened. He's a very inactive fighter with long stretches of lacking offense.Raw Dawgin' it;1629394 wrote:because he dominated Koshchek and was on his way to dominating Condit. He's feast or famine.

His hype is based of his looks (huge and ripped) and his speed. When he does something well, it looks really good and he in turn looks unstoppable. Agree though, he has not consistently looked good, and I don't think he is a true top contender.

He rocked him with 2 big rights and a couple take downs. He was well on his way to a 30-27 decision against a guy who was the interim champ and almost beat GSP. He also made Koschek look totally out of his league, not like a guy who was a top contender for years. I think he can be very exciting, but he's too hot and cold. He's can be really explosive or totally gun shy. I think if he can be consistent he'd be very dangerous.robj55;1629396 wrote:Koscheck has been out of his prime for probably 3 years now, the Condit fight he landed a big right hand and two take downs, other than that nothing happened. The Condit fight was a very good style match up for him, Condit can't stop anyone from taking him down. He looked terrible against Shields, MacDonald, Mein and Daley. I get that he's big, strong and athletic but he seems mentally weak to me and has no gas tank. I guess I just feel he is overhped a bit as a fighter.Raw Dawgin' it;1629434 wrote:He rocked him with 2 big rights and a couple take downs. Mentally weak, probably. Also needs to build on his skill set. When he can't dictate he basically rolls over and packs it in.robj55;1629449 wrote:The Condit fight was a very good style match up for him, Condit can't stop anyone from taking him down. I wouldn't say I'm not a fan, just think he is overhyped right now. People look at his physique and think omg this guy is a killer.sportchampps;1629549 wrote:Yeah I'm not a fan of Woodley either

Yeah that card is entirely for that market and that's okay. I'll catch it later on fight pass because there are a few fights I wanna see(Hioki vs Oliveira)Raw Dawgin' it;1630913 wrote:When Dana White says cards in other countries aren't meant for fans in the US, he means it.
