Well I think it was quite clear that Dana is not a Diaz fan to start so he wasn't going to give Nick any leeway. It was Dana's way or the hwy! If Diaz lied to him and said he'd do it and didn't well you really can't back Diaz here! He has had many of opps before but like it was said, Diaz being Diaz has cost Diaz!

It's always Danas way. Soon the UFC will need a fighters union like NFL or MLB or something if he keeps this up.

I have no problem with it really!! Other fighters that tow the line don't have these problems!gerb131;886677 wrote:It's always Danas way. Soon the UFC will need a fighters union like NFL or MLB or something if he keeps this up.

Diaz told Dana to his face he was willing to do the minimal promotion required. Even his manager said he needed to go.

Nick blew it, can't defend him. He needs to get counseling for his social anxiety and re-evaluate his life. If you tell them you are going to do something you need to do it. GSP/Condit is a greta match up though as Condit and Diaz are very similar.

Lesnar will crush Overeem as long as lesnar is atleast 95% Overeem is one of the most over rated fighters out there. Werdum was his one big win (and a unimpressie win at that) since 2006 when he met a smaller Rua. His other wins are against terriable people.

Wow...so disappointed to hear about Diaz...I really thought he could beat GSP....ugh
The Condit replacement should be good, but I was really looking forward to that...

You have to understand that part of the fight contract for any main event, and especially title fights, is to do the promotional stuff. Its part of the contract, this isn't just Dana White's wish list of things the fighters have to do, this is part of the contract they sign to fight as a main event/title fight.gerb131;886677 wrote:It's always Danas way. I'm sorry, but you are a moron if you back Diaz on this, he really is in breech of contract if he doesn't do the promotional stuff.
Plus the guy is a moron, you do the promotions to sell more PPVs, if more PPVs are sold the main event fighters get more money, aka Diaz, just like other big name fighters, would have got a cut of every PPV sold. So by not doing the promotional crap he was taking money out of his hands, GSP's hands, and the UFC's hands.
Breech of contract, period. Get over it and stop blindly backing idiots. I love Diaz as a fighter, he had the best shot to beat GSP as anyone who has fought GSP in years. But Diaz is a moron.

Yeah, so unrealistic to expect him to show up to stuff he agreed to do.gerb131;886665 wrote:Me. And Dana can fuck himself. Nick fights he doesnt parade around. Fucking tyrant.
Yeah, why worry about doing media/promotion for the sport. Stupid really....Big_Mirg_ZHS;886666 wrote:I concur just let the man fight and not worry about doing stuff that triggers his anxiety. WTF dana
Right, because guys in other sports aren't required to do press conferences...gerb131;886677 wrote:It's always Danas way. Soon the UFC will need a fighters union like NFL or MLB or something if he keeps this up.
Get a grip. This is another example of Nick being Nick. AKA, being a low-life who throws away opportunities because he's dumber than a brick. Other fighters don't have a problem doing 100x's more press than Diaz was required to do. If he's not willing to pull his weight, kick him to the curb, he needs the UFC more than the UFC needs him. Somebody's going to have to pay for his weed.
When even Cesar Gracie is saying Diaz deserves what he gets, maybe it will be time for Nick to finally have a reality check. I wouldn't hold my breath though.
On a side note: I'm genuinely curious, how can you possibly be a fan of Nick Diaz? Other than being an exciting fighter, he has zero redeeming qualities as a human being.

My two thoughts exactly. Even his trainer and manager is saying Diaz made a dumb mistake, only a biased fan would still back his decision.2kool4skool;886836 wrote:When even Cesar Gracie is saying Diaz deserves what he gets, maybe it will be time for Nick to finally have a reality check. I also agree with your last statement, I like watching Diaz fight because he is exciting and a great fighter. However, Diaz is a disgusting human being.

All in all, Nick needs to grow up, he just threw away millions of dollars because he couldn't suck it up and do what he was suppose to do.

It's not the first time Nick has blown off pressers but in SF they let him get away with it before Zuffa took it over.

Doesn't give an explanation but says he was trying to catch a flight, doesn't seem remorseful.

Brock doesn't really need the money. He can go if he wants to. He'll fight anyone. It's hard to tell how much longer he'll fight...and that's only his side.The_Crosby_Show;886494 wrote:Yeah, Dana wants to get rid of the most popular fighter and biggest PPV draw
I am sure Dana White doesn't like Brock backing out of scheduled fights (yes, legitimate reasons though). Dana may like the PPV money...but it's hard to keep a fighter around that may be exposed as "past his prime" or "done." Dana White isn't going to keep a "second-rate" fighter around his organization if he doesn't think that the fighter deserves to be there. If Brock loses, he may no longer be the PPV sell that he is now...he'll just be a fraud.
I completely agree. Overeem may have a glass jaw, but that doesn't do much good since Lesnar hasn't really be impressive in the standup. Lesnar has a tough jaw...but you can only be hit SO much before you crumble...and he's been crumbling.I Wear Pants;886467 wrote:Yeah, Brock doesn't like getting hit at all. Which is why if Alistair is smart he will come out and throw hard from the get go.
Overeem is a big guy. He's going to be tough. He's also decently versatile -- he can fight standing up, on the ground, and submit. He's also got MANY fights under his belt. He's on of Lesner's most veteran opponents (and a decently young one too).

Dana is running the UFC like McMahon runs the WWE. It's "my way or the highway." Don't like it...go elsewhere. You can be let go at any moment. Dana is straight business. And he does a good job of it.

Who does Diaz fight now? I hope he falls into the fight with BJ Penn.
