I was hoping his stand up would have looked sharper but it really looks no better than when he debuted. A win is a win over a tough vet though as you said.

Sponser not paying Carwin because they say he threw his fight with Lesnar. Looking for a link.

That's what I'm thinking. If that's allowed to happen, it opens an ugly can of worms for fighters.
Got 1-hit KO'd in a close fight? Threw it.
Got subbed late in a round like Garcia against the Zombie Saturday? Threw it.
Less-than-honest sponsors would be looking for any reason to not pay guys who lose.

I mean I guess my thing is that he wore your product and promoted it in a main event, he did what he was suppose to do. I guess I don't understand what winning and losing has to do with it?

Anyone watch episode 1 of TUF? Pretty tame opener. I like Shamar. He didn't have to show much but you can tell he is a solid wrestler and is strong. Needs some ground work though. This is the first season for me that I haven't heard of any of the fighters going in. Should be interesting!

Shamar and Ryan look like the best 2 to me. i think Lesnar whiffed big time on his team picking.

I liked Shamar too, but damn, his ground-game was pathetic. Dude needs to work on his jujitsu badly.

Shamar was a black Jon Fitch, layed and prayed his way to victory lol. When Dana White said the UFC likes fighters, I don't think that's what he meant. Perhaps he was just playing it safe to win.

Dana did not like that fight and you can tell. He likes wrestlers who actually do something with top control be it striking or submission attempts.
Shamar said he was trying to not show everything, let's hope he was saving a lot of stuff because otherwise he's going to be a really boring fighter to watch.

Saw a UFC 129 poster on the door of a BW3s and I can't believe there wasn't even a mention of Couture/Machida. How the hell do you not promote that?

Because THIS GUY doesn't give two sh!ts about Couture. He's washed up and represents old UFC. He needs to retire. Thus, UFC is doing the right thing by promoting GSP vs. Shields and the Aldo fight.

Washed up as in has a 3 fight streak. Sure they weren't against monsters but apart from Toney they weren't jokes. And Vera is still a good fighter.Scarlet_Buckeye;732549 wrote:Because THIS GUY doesn't give two sh!ts about Couture. He's washed up and represents old UFC. He needs to retire. And my comment was only because Randy is one of the more well known UFC guys and Machida was recently a guy they were pushing as one of the future best ever so you'd think they'd at least have a mention on the poster.

Machida will wipe the floor with Couture...won't even be close...that is why it isn't on the poster! (Although I agree that it should be on there..Legend vs. Pretty much a legend...yeah, don't get it..haha)

couture i think matches up very good against machida. if he can get ahold of him and use his strength to hold him against the cage he can out dirtybox him any day of the week

I agree with that. I think couture beats him. Closes the distance, puts him up against the cage to tire him out and land those close shots and i also think he'll take him down and punish him. Who ever thinks couture will get crushed is nuts, the man is always in peak condition and I would never use his age against him. He'll go out there and grind machida down.

There's two ways this will go. Machida will dominate or Couture will win a decision by dirty boxing and using his wrestling.
That's what I feel is likely.

Machida will pick Couture apart IMO. Machida loves guys who lunge at him, he just side steps and tears them apart

Yeah but Randy doesn't lunge.
Machida is good against powerful strikers because he can sidestep and counter. Couture doesn't do that. He goes for the clinch and takedowns.
It'll either be a domination by Machida or a great chess match won by Couture IMO.
