What nights are they showing Idol now? They showed it on a Sunday? Looks like I should probably just set up my DVR.

I don't follow the show much any more, but he is my pick to win it all already.

I bet $50 online on Taylor Hicks to win whenever he was on the show....it was like 8.5 : 1 odds...

boo ya.

Maybe she's waitressing because he doesn't let her free-ride off of him. I wouldn't.

But you're prick...Carey seems like someon who would at least help his kids out with better connections than waitressing.

Yea, not all celebrities give their kids a free ride. I heard a George Lucas interview where he told his kids that they weren't rich, he was. He said he would get them a car when they're 16, and pay for them to go to college, but that was it. Now I'm sure once they show the maturity to graduate college, he'll hook them up with nice jobs with his company, but he's making them work for the perks.

After watching Steven Tyler butcher the National Anthem yesterday, he shouldn't be criticizing ANYONE's vocals. Granted, his voice has always been more unique than good, but that was awful.

Not 100% true, Tyler definitely butchered the National Anthem, but you do not have to have the best voice to be a good critic.

Simon wasn't/isn't a good singer, but he knows the industry and was brutally honest (and right) most of the time. Tyler knows the industry as does Randy and Lopez.

It will make for good tv when one of the loony contestants gets an attitude and calls Tyler out for butchering the National Anthem.

I wasn't that impressed with X Factor. I liked it better once it got down to the final 10 or 12 contestants though.

That won't happen. It couldn't happen until the live shows anyway, and nobody is going to call out a judge at that point and risk pissing off the fans of said judge.

Here is an idea....maybe Carey's daughter WANTS to work and right now her job is waitressing?
Maybe he wants her to prove she can handle a job and be responsible. If i was a millionaire I sure woudl make my kids learn the hard way to learn how to work and be responsible before bringing them in.

Jim Carrey has been making $20,000,000 plus on each movie since Liar Liar I think. I highly doubt he is broke, since he seems like a guy who isnt retarded.

I would also guess he is one of the celebrities who sets up funds for his kids that they cant touch till they are 35-4o-45 whatever. Thats just speculation, but I know a lot of celebs do that. Makes it so the kids dont skate through life and turn into piece of shit spoiled punks. But also makes sure, that no matter what happens, when they are older and mature enough to understand money and all that goes along with it, they are set for life.

How many of the back stories do you think are fabricated or stretched? The other night there was a blonde who said she was diagnosed with depression in the 4th grade. Who is depressed at 9?

I think they should scrap the theme shows and just let people sing what they want. The country singers hardly ever sing soul/r&b songs well and vice versa and then the judges act like they are shocked that they didn't do a better job with it.

This year's Idol blows, but the one girls singing of Whitney's "I Will Always Love You" the other night might have been the best performance ever on any reality talent show. Better than anyone from past Idol seasons, better than X Factor, better than The Voice, etc. She sang it nearly as good live as Whitney did dubbed in the movie.

The rest of the singers sucked and overall talent The Voice is better this year by far.

And yes, take my man card for admitting to watching both the Voice and AI.

I don't think your man card should be revoked for watching singing shows. I think dancing shows would be a little different lol. Anyways chalk me up as one who isn't that impressed with the talent this year.

Idol will fizzle out soon. X factor and the voice have way better setups and talent
