I'm not putting total blame on any one area; hence why I listed 5 bullets and never once made specific reference to the fast food industry other than now.
I agree that people need to use self-control, but then again the corporate world specifically markets stuff to the general public in a way that sometimes isn't right.

It is not the responsibility of the companies to make sure people can't get fat on their food. Unhealthy food is fine to eat as long as it is in moderation. Education is just common sense. Read labels. It's all on the parents.
No doubt parenting plays a HUGE part in this equation. The world has changed (and changed for the worse, unfortunately) and there is now this sense of "It isn't my problem/fault/etc." mentality and it's ruining our society. That very same mentality "it's not my fault, problem, etc." is shared by many businesses, too. It's a 2-way street.
