Not pressing the panick button by any means....but 3 games into the preseason and Weeden has yet to throw a Td pass....that concerns me!

Interior O-Line is an abortion. Supposedly Pinkston & Lauvao "improved" in the offseason.
I'm not seeing it. Most UNDISCIPLINED team in the NFL. This offense wouldn't look NEARLY as bad if the dumb asses wouldn't shoot themselves in the foot when they get in the red zone. Have to learn how to FINISH.
Weeden looked "lights out" on his first 4 passes, then the bottom dropped out.
Dropped passes, penalties, fumbles....arrrrrrggh!
The defense looks like utter crap too.
All this being said, I get this strange feeling they are going to pull the upset against these guys in week one.

espn proves to indeed be prophetic with this quote, eh? but, whew, at least Shurmer "isn't concerned"! And Brown certainly got abused at corner. jeesh.Sonofanump;1254173 wrote:Found this on ESPN's fantasy forcast for Trent Richson:

I have never thought that to be the case.
This is the Browns team I expected to see this year. Every year there are high expectations because of the "increased talent"
Heckert has assembled...we have a looong way to go

Meanwhile Russell Wilson (you know the guy who was drafted 2 rounds later who I said the Browns should target who everyone laughed at me for saying could be an NFL starter) has how many touchdowns?OQB;1254400 wrote:Not pressing the panick button by any means....but 3 games into the preseason and Weeden has yet to throw a Td pass....that concerns me!

Weeden looks like an nfl qb. That is a vast improvement over the last few years

Truth...which makes the fact Weeden hasn't thrown a TD against vanilla defensive schemes even worse...Crimson streak;1254496 wrote:It's the preseason

And ANOTHER example of "Mr Contrarian/Cowboys fan" trolling this BROWNS thread....Do you just post negative comments on here, constantly, because you want to stir shit up? Like I said, "Jordo Jr."Pick6;1254518 wrote:Jamarcus Russell "looked" like and NFL QB too

How is that trolling? I made a point that "looks" don't mean shit. Anyways, I think Weeden has made some nice throws, but overall the offense under him just hasn't clicked yet. I think the offense has looked a lot better with McCoy, and I prefer his mobility that is needed with the shitty oline to keep plays alive. Now people are going to say "McCoy has been playing against the second stringers"..well so has Weeden a lot of the time. I remember him playing 1 series against detroits starters and one against philis. I'd imagine he played against green bays second team at least half of the time as well considering we were treating it as our 3rd preseason game.
I think just giving him the job instead of him having to earn it wasnt the right move. Competition breeds improvement. IMO Shurmur just decided to go with him to attempt to save face and strike gold, because he knows he is about to lose his job. I wouldnt be surprised if he was fired midseason.

Won't happen.I wouldnt be surprised if he was fired midseason.
If we are that bad to warrant him being fired mid-season Haslam will wait until after the season and just shit can everyone from the front office on down through the coaching staff.
If we are still only a 4-5 win team in year 3 of a rebuild, then they all deserve to lose their jobs anyway.

^^ wouldn't be at all surprised to see this happen. Would be surprised to see more than 4 wins from this team (maybe less than that), and with that heckert and Shurmur will both be gone (along with Holmgren---though I think that's assumed regardless of what happens)

Honestly I was against cleaning house at first but now I'm for it. I would be ok with keeping heckert as long as shurmer goes and we get a proven head coach. I have a feeling everyone is going and Haslem is bringing in his people. Bill cowherd could be interested possibly. I do like the idea of polian as the gm though

Word on the street is that Colts are close to a blockbuster deal involving a premiere LT. If the Browns trade Joe Thomas I'd be fucking pissed.

Saw this on the OBR.From Twitter: Carlton Mitchell ‏ @ C_Mitch18
It's been real, but God has a plan. Shout out to # BrownsNationseriously thank you, I am very Blessed..
In honor or Carlton Mitchell being cut, let us play Uncle Rizzie's Carlton Mitchell inspired rant one last time. Truly epic, and captured the frustration many Browns fans were feeling at the time.
