I'm so glad they are bringing the brown uniforms back....wish they would bring the "comback kids" orange pants back though...

Something different than the Pro-Weeden propaganda you guys like to spread on here.

The brown jersey/orange pants is their best combo, imo. Brings back the Kardiac Kids memories of my youth. Just not the godforsaken orange jerseys or brown pants.like_that;1253858 wrote:I have been saying this for a long time.

Has there been any rumblings on the OBR about Haden's suspension and where the NFL is at in the process?

Nothing. I'd imagine that Goodell's gonna drop the hammer on guys like Fairley, Haden, Britt, etc next week.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1253934 wrote:Has there been any rumblings on the OBR about Haden's suspension and where the NFL is at in the process?

Hopefully the NFL treats it the same way they dealt with Jerome Simpson last year. AKA blow it off and let him play for the whole season.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1253934 wrote:Has there been any rumblings on the OBR about Haden's suspension and where the NFL is at in the process?

Tim hasselbach says McCoy should start over weedon because he has played better in the preseason and gives the browns the best chance to win. Lol did he watch any games last year?

People have been calling into the radio station all day talking about wanting to see Colt with the 1's, and how it isn't fair Weeden was handed the job without earning it.Crimson streak;1254094 wrote:Tim hasselbach says McCoy should start over weedon because he has played better in the preseason and gives the browns the best chance to win. It really is past time for them to get rid of Colt, because his presence is going to stunt Weeden's growth by not giving him a chance to go through the rookie growing pains without the chorus calling for McCoy to be put in when they happen.
Wallace and McCoy are a wash as far as talent goes, so get rid of the guy who brings the potential for QB controversy (from the fans and media) with him. If Weeden throws some bad INT's early (which he will) fans won't cheer for Wallace to go in, but they will McCoy. It is just asking for trouble keeping him around.

Agreed. Colt should have gone the moment they drafted weeden.

I was pumped to get to watch the game tonight since it is against Philly but I looked through my tv guide and it's not on wtf? All the eagles games I've been able to watch instead I get the fucking bears vs giants. Super pissed right now

+2...was hoping they could keep him around as a cheap, backup option but I just don't see this being feasible. If they do keep him, I don't see this season ending well (not win-wise, but with in fighting, QB controversy, etc).wes_mantooth;1254111 wrote:Agreed. yeah, these things never end well. And as much as Colt was a "golden boy" coming into the league....egos and pride always get in the wayBR1986FB;1254139 wrote:+2...was hoping they could keep him around as a cheap, backup option but I just don't see this being feasible. This has been my fear all along. Weeden needs the breathing room to make the mistakes a rookie is going to make without being worried about Browns stadium erupting into Colt chants when he inevitably has some bad games.BR1986FB;1254139 wrote: If they do keep him, I don't see this season ending well (not win-wise, but with in fighting, QB controversy, etc).
Colt started too many games to go back to just being a back-up on the same team.
One Weeden injury where he comes out for a few series or a half and Colt comes in and plays well and we are back to Couch/Holcomb all over again. It is just setting the team up for disaster in the longer term.
The biggest problem is that Colt is a likeable and nice guy, and an underdog type people will root for. All along fans in this town have been transfering their like of him into a skill set on the field he just doesn't have.
I heard someone calling in today legitimately worried that the Browns were going to let him go and he was going to end up like Drew Brees somewhere else. There is alot of irrationality among the fan base towards his talent, and there is just not enough upside of him being a cheap back-up to keep him around when the potential downside is so disastrous.

Very excited to see what Pat Shurmer's idea of conservative playcalling is tonight.

I have been hearing all day about how tonight the playcalling will be very vanilla, and won't show anything, not to expect much ect. To me that is a normal Sunday of Browns football.
Maybe he will let Weeden air it out a bit since we know they won't be doing that on Sept 9th given the constraints of the system.
I do want to see them let him take some chances down the field though. The kid has too good of an arm (with pretty good accuracy) to relegate him to nothing but a 10 yard and under pattern guy. Now is a better time than any to see how it goes considering the games don't count.

Found this on ESPN's fantasy forcast for Trent Richson:
"Outside of Joe Thomas, the Browns O-line is potentially awful"
I have never thought that to be the case.
