Another solid post from RCF:
It's so stupid. I'm also sick of the words "mauler," and "value" when it comes to the draft. Thing is...mauler makes sense and value makes SOME sense, but is impossible to prove until about three years out.
But reach is the dumbest fucking word of all time in relation to the draft. You have NO IDEA what a reach is if you aren't pounding the phones and finding out where other TEAMS value guys...not other fans. Front offices know what a reach is, not us. All it takes is one other team to like a guy as much as you do and see him as being worth one pick higher than yours and you're SOL.

That's why you don't draft a 28 year old QB... Nice fail.

That's dumb. I think he's a reach because there were better players available at the same position, regardless of when they took him.lhslep134;1155456 wrote:Good post from RCF
Fuck the fact that Bruce Irvin was a huge reach, he fills a position of need for Seattle so nobody should comment negatively about it, right? Awful logic. There is no way to determine if a "guy performs" on draft night, so whoever posted that needs to shut the fuck up just as much as everyone else if he really has that opinion.
But my guess is he doesn't, and he was actually going to rub Heckert's dick about what a good pick it was. Before the guy plays 1 snap. And that makes him a hypocrite. A pick can't be right on draft night anymore than it can be wrong.

How do you honestly know if the others were truly better than Mitchell? Because Kiper had them rated higher?Mulva;1155480 wrote:That's dumb. I think he's a reach because there were better players available at the same position, regardless of when they took him.

I'm capable of forming my own opinions on players. I don't give a shit what Kiper thinks about them. I don't give a shit what Heckert thinks about them. It's my opinion. Me saying I disagree with a pick doesn't mean a player is gonna suck. But Heckert/the Browns thinking he's "the right guy" doesn't mean he's going to be a good player either.lhslep134;1155482 wrote:I think the post hoops supplied applies to you:

The whole "the team knows more than you do and therefore they never do anything wrong and if you question them you're a dumbass/bad fan" thought process is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
But back to the draft... about the only receiver left that I like is Joe Adams, and he's no more than a #3/slot guy. I have no idea what they're planning on doing at this point.

I don't mind the pick, becuase I think Schwartz will do just fine and be a durable OG/OT (depending on what we need on any given game).
I just don't like the fact that we are completely ignoring the fact that we have MAYYYYBE one decent receiver on this team (Llttle). What in the hell are H&H doing w/ the WR position? Just putting it on the back burner like it's fucking busy work you keep procrastinating?
I'm not sitting here calling all of our picks bad (because I agree w/ the RCF dude that you have to wait to evaluate drafts), but damn what in the hell are we going to do about the WR position? lol

I really think Greg Little is going to be a beast. We still need another WR, but it seems a lot of you are undervaluing what he did in such a shit situation.
Compare his #'s to some of the top tier rookie WR's of the last few years... Even some of the ones who were drafted into much better situations.
He missed an entire year of football before being drafted and was converted to WR just a few seasons ago at UNC. He's still developing, but has good size and speed and he's physical.

I know I'm in the minority here....but......
Isaiah Pead...would be our starter at RB. And is going to be very, very good, imo.
So why not take Pead at 37, Blackmon at 4, and Decastro at 22?
I mean seriously, that's 3 starters..just like Schwartz, Richardson, and Weeden are.
You play McCoy this year, they probably have a below .500 record, and you move up in 2013 to take your franchise QB. Even if it means your 2014, 2015, and 2016 first round picks.
You plug a franchise QB into a top 3 offensive line group, a beast at WR, a good RB...you're set.
Yeah, that Weeden pick absolutely disgusts me, still.

Maybe next year we can sit and watch film together. Because you've spouted off plenty of opinions about picks, players, and trades too, so I can only assume that you've been spending your time in the film room lately. Otherwise you would just sound like a total dumbass with that post.

So the team hasn't improved ANY since they took over? The talent was stripped bare and it's been a complete rebuild. I really like our last few drafts. They focused on defense and are now focusing on offense.Pick6;1155506 wrote:If H&H are so good, why is the team shit?
You guys are talking about reaching on a RT/OG but are bitching that we didn't take a couple of WR's who SEVERAL teams passed on because you THINK they could be #1 targets?
They'll have a decent rookie season and you'll be ready to move on to the next one. It's apparent by how you guys act towards Little.
