If they take Blackmon and then take Weeden at 37 that wouln't shock me too much but the Browns have a lot of other needs than to take a QB at 22.BR1986FB;1153290 wrote:If the Browns take Blackmon, I doubt they pass on Weeden.

I know a lot of people here would QQ, but if the Browns accepted that trade with the Bills and picked Decastro and then Reiff with 22, I would be ecstatic. Imagine If they get Steinbach back. JT/Steinbach/Mack/Decastro/Reiff would be our line. Then with the 2 second round picks they can get a RB and WR. If a RB can't run with that line he sucks ass. Also no excuse for McCoy to suck ass anymore as he should have plenty of time to throw the ball.

McCoy would have 45 sec in the pocket, even he should be able to find an open WR with that much time.

I completely agree with you getting Decastro and Reiff would be fucking amazing. And yeah there will still be a decent WR and RB to pick at 37 and 41.like_that;1153296 wrote:I know a lot of people here would QQ, but if the Browns accepted that trade with the Bills and picked Decastro and then Reiff with 22, I would be ecstatic. Unfortunately Shurmur is pass happy. That's why Richardson isn't really essential at 4.like_that;1153296 wrote:I know a lot of people here would QQ, but if the Browns accepted that trade with the Bills and picked Decastro and then Reiff with 22, I would be ecstatic. This is why Heckert should hire me as assistant GM.

ESPN's Bob Holtzman reports # Browns have narrowed choice at 4 to Richardson & Claiborne. Blackmon is out. Holtzman expects Richardson.

Oh, there's no way in Hell I'd take Weeden at 22 but I could see them staying put and taking him at 37 or trading up to 31. Have heard they've talked with New England about moving up.Iliketurtles;1153295 wrote:If they take Blackmon and then take Weeden at 37 that wouln't shock me too much but the Browns have a lot of other needs than to take a QB at 22.

Run on first when everyone expects it, get a yard. Run on second yard when everyone in the stadium sees it coming, get one yd.like_that;1153305 wrote:Yeah, my scenario plays into shurmurs style (whatever the fuck that is).
Pass for 7 yds on 3rd and 8. Then run a fucking sweep with Armond Fucking Smith on 4th and 1, or pound it up the gut with your 3rd string TE.

I think trading up to 31 would be dumb. No one is going to take Weeden before the Browns pick at 37.BR1986FB;1153306 wrote:Oh, there's no way in Hell I'd take Weeden at 22 but I could see them staying put and taking him at 37 or trading up to 31. I agree. Don't see a team between 23-36 that needs a starter and I don't see anyone using a pick that high if they are bringing him in as a backup.Iliketurtles;1153318 wrote:I think trading up to 31 would be dumb. No one is going to take Weeden before the Browns pick at 37.

I don't think Shurmur is a rocket scientist by any means but most of this is on the players (execution) in my opinion. If players are executing properly, in a dominant fashion, you can tell your opponent where the ball is going and if you execute properly they aren't going to stop it. I want to see what Shurmur does with better talent. If he's still a fuck up, THEN cut bait.Commander of Awesome;1153317 wrote:Run on first when everyone expects it, get a yard. That was Mo Carthon's excuse for the FB option pass as well.BR1986FB;1153327 wrote:If players are executing properly, in a dominant fashion, you can tell your opponent where the ball is going and if you execute properly they aren't going to stop it.

Mcshay thinks the browns would be better off with a Blackmon/Martin duo as compared to Richardson/Wright. Not sure I agree with that

I still think it's more on the players than the coaches. You can call ANY play and if executed properly it should work.Commander of Awesome;1153328 wrote:That was Mo Carthon's excuse for the FB option pass as well.

Browns pick down to Richardson vs. Claiborne

ESPN's Bob Holtzman reported Thursday morning that the Browns have narrowed their selection at No. 4 overall to Alabama RB Trent Richardson and LSU CB Morris Claiborne.
This is notable because Cleveland-area reporters believed Oklahoma State WR Justin Blackmon would still be in the hunt for the fourth pick leading up into Thursday. The Browns appear to have moved on from Blackmon, and will take Claiborne if someone leapfrogs them for Richardson. If the Vikings sit tight at No. 3 and take Claiborne or Matt Kalil, Richardson will be Cleveland's pick.

Not sure if it's a bunch of retweets but my buddy just told me that there were a bunch of tweets from various analysts saying it's either going to be Richardson at 4 or the trade down to 16 with the Jets.

I'm also seeing a lot of talk about the Bills being VERY interested in moving up to #3 to take Kalil, so that may drive the price up for anyone wanting to move up for Richardson. I can't help but like our odds at landing the unquestionable #1 RB in this class.
