I do agree that DeCastro is elite. Even for a guard, he has the ability to dominate with his toughness and his ability to move and mash. He'll a Pro Bowler (if they continue it) 10-15 times not to mention the attitude that he'll help bring to the offensive line. I'd love for the Steelers to trade up to get him and would hate for the Browns to get him.

Decastro is probably elite for his position but there's no way the Browns are taking a guard at 4.

So let me get this straight....the Browns shouldn't make a pick at #4 because there are "no elite guys there", yet they should trade down (which means selecting a guy with an even less chance of being elite) and possibly get another lower round draft pick or two (even lower chance of being elite)? That's retarded.......If you take Richardson or Blackmon, you are getting THE BEST player at that position that this draft class has to offer. Same goes for Claiborne, which would upgrade TWO positions (given the ability then to move Brown to safety) and give the Browns two potential shutdown corners in a passing league. Even if you take Kalil, you are getting the best tackle in the draft and if he's even half as good as Joe Thomas, he becomes a great guy to have on the right side.
Outside of Tannehill the Browns would really have to try to mess this pick up. Any of those four guys is going to make a HUGE impact on this team and is going to be better than anything they can get further down in the draft. The Browns have 13 picks and a scouting department that they pay lots of money to. Time to let them do their jobs.

I think he'll be the Joe Thomas of guards, very similar to Alan Faneca. Step in and be a pro bowler right away. I really hope Pitts doesnt get him.Non;1153456 wrote:I do agree that DeCastro is elite. Agree completely. Claiborne isn't the popular pick but he helps our defense in two key areas, and you can never have enough CBs IMO. Its a position much like a pass rusher that is becoming worth its weight in gold. I would still take Richardson ahead of him I think, but I wouldn't be upset with selecting him in the slightest.Y-Town Steelhound;1153472 wrote:So let me get this straight....the Browns shouldn't make a pick at #4 because there are "no elite guys there", yet they should trade down (which means selecting a guy with an even less chance of being elite) and possibly get another lower round draft pick or two (even lower chance of being elite)? I think they have a bigger need to bring in some offensive skill.
Just talking more in general about DeCastro. I also like how a lot of coaches and scouts are praising him for being a perfectionist. He is not afraid to get on his teammates or kick some butt in the locker room if they're cutting corners or not up to standard, so to speak.

It's debateable that Blackmon & Claiborne are the best at their positions. Kalil & Richardson are clearly the best at theirs.Y-Town Steelhound;1153472 wrote:So let me get this straight....the Browns shouldn't make a pick at #4 because there are "no elite guys there", yet they should trade down (which means selecting a guy with an even less chance of being elite) and possibly get another lower round draft pick or two (even lower chance of being elite)? YOU AND ME BOTH. "Mindboggling" that we didn't even try. Especially for the deal he signed, we could have easily have done that, seems like a no brainer to me.wes_mantooth;1153502 wrote:yeah, but this is where I wish they would have made a run at Eric Winston. Thought I posted something about this a few weeks ago. Adkins said they reached out to Winston's reps and they said they weren't interested in Cleveland.wes_mantooth;1153510 wrote:Ooh...not what I heard
I'm thinking that some of this stuff doesn't leak out until WAY late perhaps because the front office would rather it come across like "we weren't interested" versus "they didn't want to come here." We found out after the fact in their interest in Mincey, Garcon & Josh Morgan.

Browns could end up with three first-round picks
Teams and agents are trying to figure out where QB Brandon Weeden will go. Specifically, what do the Browns do at No. 22? Cleveland really likes Weeden, according to numerous sources with knowledge of the situation, but ideally, they'd love him at No. 37, in the second round.
I suspect if the Browns don't take him 22nd, and at this point I don't think they will, then a trade up into the late first round isn't out of the question. If the Browns want to get a jump on anyone thinking about leaping to the top of the second round Friday, they could go ahead and do business with Bill Belichick, who is always looking to deal, at No. 31 and get their quarterback. The Browns' dream scenario would allow them to take a WR, RB and QB with their top three picks. A year ago GM Tom Heckert did some excellent wheeling and dealing. Maybe he can do it again.

Justin Blackmon - WR - Playerwes_mantooth;1153520 wrote:More and more boards are having the browns taking Blackmon....interesting
SI.com's Peter King expects the Rams to draft Oklahoma State WR Justin Blackmon with the No. 6 overall pick.
King expects the Vikings to stay put and select Matt Kalil at No. 3, the Browns to go with Trent Richardson at No. 4, and Mo Claiborne to be the Bucs' pick at No. 5. The Browns have moved on from Blackmon as a consideration at No. 4, and he's not going to Tampa. St. Louis will definitely have a chance to get him.

smh br. If richardson isn't an elite prospect, then I don't know who is. I'm done posting on this thread until the draft starts. Lots of dumb shit being said.BR1986FB;1153423 wrote:Not really. Who then? Blackmon? Sorry...not better than Julio Jones or AJ Green and I wouldn't call Jones "elite." Kalil? Very good LT but not as good as LT's considered "elite" like Joe Thomas. Richardson? Very, very good back but he's not going to take the franchise to the next level. Nor will Claiborne.
Just don't see "value" for what is available at 4. You don't just "pick" to say you took a player. I like Richardson but I'm VERY skeptical on how he will be used in this offense. Blackmon is solid but I don't see him as a game changer like others do. Would rather just trade down and maximize value.

The more teams inquiring about a trade, the better. Hopefully the trade is with the Jags.

I completely forgot about posey. I think he would be a steal in the 3rd round and I hate Ohio st. So I'm not being a homer lol. I like his upside more than Blackmon or wright.
