Plzz tell me what you would have done this off season to make the Browns a playoff contender this season. Thanks.

This. If you want to be a top draft pick, you oughta expect that a shitty team is going to draft you, because normally a team with a shitty record has a high draft pick. If you don't like the fact a shitty team drafted you, then work hard to make them better.

Look at Greg Little, a guy with 45 drops and he still got 61 catches for 709 yds, as a ROOKIE who didn't play football the year before. Guys on this team aren't putting up megatron numbers because they're not Megatron Calvin Johnson. LMAO if you honestly think no one is putting up record breaking numbers on this team because of the system. Its the fact hat they're not 6'5" running 4.3. Talent not system is the issue at WR.
lol @ QQ pride. Just for the record, Megatron's second year with fucking Jon Kitna as the QB had 78 receptions, 1,331 yards, and 12 TDs.

Great point, his rookie year he had comparable numbers to Little, 756 yds and 4 TDs. I'm sure he was QQing then and wanting to get out of Detroit because of their system. /sarcasm.

I wouldn't have hired Shurmur to begin with. This team is going to be set back another 3-5 years because of that hire.

Kitna then> McCoy and it's not close.

Shurmur has called plays for 3 seasons in the NFL. Never had a receiver break 900 yards.

I am sure it is all the receivers though, and nothing to do with the playcalling. It is everyone else's fault.

HE also lacked Talent at the WR position, which you conveniently brush over. What I've grown to expect from you though, nothing but spin control when facts get thrown in your face.

Well, I don't disagree with you there, that hired pissed me off from the beggining, but I asked what you would do THIS offseason to turn this team into a playoff contender.

Since you place high value on wins (see your tebow nut hugging), Kitna was 0-16 that year, McCoy at least got 4 wins this past season. Nice fail though.

Kitna still a much better QB than McCoy.

He is better (mainly due to exp), but much better is a stretch. Kitna fucking sucks. Your blind hatred for McCoy is a joke when you are coming out with those statements, and trying to back failhook. The fact of the matter is the WR stats were thrown in iggy's face which proved what he said was wrong. Kitna wouldn't have made Greg Little a fucking 1000+ yard reciever his rookie year.

Ok, then they had Dan orlovosky, and Drew Stanton as their QBs and megatron still put up those stats. Thanks for proving my point even further.

nothing but spin control when facts get thrown in your face.
The "Fact" is that receivers aren't successful in Pat Shumur's offense.

The "spin" is your attempt to divert the blame to everyone but Shurmur and blame it on lack of talent.

What you are admitting instead is that Shumur can't coach anyone up, or put them in a position to succeed. In either case, it is an indictment on his ability as an offensive headcoach.

So you're saying that if the Browns had Calvin Johnson, he wouldn't put up 1000 yds bc of Shurmur's system?

Career 60% and 30,000 yds passing as a back-up mostly on some real crappy teams. Yeah he threw a lot of int's but see "crappy teams" he played for.

I said he was better, due to his experience in the NFL, but MUCH BETTER (as br would put it) is just a stretch.

When you are losing every game and behind every game you are going to get a lot passing yds in garbage time.

Also you are just proving my point that Kitna sucks. Every team Kitna has played for has been a crappy team. See the correlation there? Kitna sucks, his teams suck. hmmmmm.

You proved your own point, Kitna was pretty much garbage and his team suffered becuase of his terrible QB play. See Peyton Manning, his team goes from a 12 win to 2 win team when he doesn't play. Good Qbs make their team better, Kitna never did, so yeah he sucks. Regardless of how many games he played.

Now enough with the fucking Kitna talk. This is a browns thread.

Im fine with how free agency has played out so far. BUT, If the Browns are terrible once again this year and STILL dont try and get an impact player through FA next year then im going 2 start getting pissed.

Most likely he wouldn't because a) how much the ball is spread out among multiple receivers and b) because of who is throwing him the ball. He'd have to have damn near 100 catches just to get 1000 yards in this system.

Come on. You don't think Shurmur would try to get a super star WR more looks?

Elite WRs get 100 catches. Also LMAO, you're getting delusional. Calvin Johnson would get 1000 yds on a triple option team.
