I concur, in spades...good man!

We laugh about it, but why would a WR want to come here and play in this offense?

In 3 seasons calling plays I don't think a Shurmur offense has ever had a receiver come anywhere near a 1,000 yard season. That is the nature of his offense.

These guys want to get paid, and know that a few 50 catch, 600 yard, 4 TD seasons in Cleveland will kill their earning potential in the future.

Players think about that stuff, and to pretend otherwise is being incredibly naive.

Kendall Wright is clearly the #2 WR in this draft in my eyes. Dude is quick, and has very good hands. BTW, random, but my cousin was at Baylor's pro day today, and one scout next to him turned to another one and said he would take RGIII over Andrew Luck. As for the Browns, I'm told no chance on Blackmon.

Also, just to give my cousin some more props, here is his article with Emmitt Smith (who he works for besides writing mock drafts), about what RB's Emmitt likes. Martin may not be a bad pick with our 2nd #1 if he is still available.

Let's be honest, ilhslep. The fact that Calvin Johnson is 6'5", 235 pounds with a 4.35 40-yard-dash time and 45" vertical contributes nothing to his success. It's entirely his route-runnning and hands. /sarcasm.

I like Martin...but wouldn't draft him in the second round. Don't like gambling on people who are injury prone. We already have a perrenial IR running back.

[h=6]Saddens me to say this because I thought he brought "cred" to the Cleveland Browns franchise but I now FIRMLY believe that this franchise is DOOMED until Mike Holmgren moves on...smh[/h]

I've got plenty of reasons to believe this. Is it that he didn't want to go after free agents, at all, or was it because he was snubbed by their advances before they could get into discussions?

Stop listening to idiotic Cleveland radio, you'll feel better. I have read nothing but that they didn't go after FAs. They don't want to build that way. I dont give a shit if Mario Manningham wants to come here or not. He's a #3 WR getting paid like a #1. No thanks. I don't want a SCum player coming here and stinking up the joint, while eating away cap space. Its not a way to build BR, see 2007 and the list of the last 10 SB winners. None of them were built through FA.

Yeah, because the prospect of going from 5-11 to 4-12 to a likely 2-14 or 3-13 (in year three) has me feeling so warm & fuzzy.

Booms was going off today, again. I think Holmgren and Heckert are doing the right things personel wise. Building through the draft (except that RGIII fail) and making the team younger. They just struck out with Colt and do not have a clue how to talk to the press and the fans. X's and O's I thought would be the best part about getting Holmgren. I was plesently suprised by the defense last year but the offense is a mess. Evolve a little for shit sakes.

The massive PR problems are their number 1 flaw. They can easily fix the other issues IMO.

I don't think they can fix their PR problems becasue Holmgren is too much of a douche to do so. He will try and fix it on the field IMO.

FYI....Justin Blackmon supposedly said he didn't want to play in Cleveland because "they suck." Not that he has a choice...just sayin.

Booms said 3 of the top 10 said they didn't want to play for cleveland. I don't know who the other two are.

This weeks sign of the apocalypse...

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/former-kentucky-qb-tim-couch-honored-maker-mark-162943856.html
[Tim Couch was an All-American, Heisman Trophy finalist and the No. 1 draft pick of the Cleveland Browns after he left Kentucky in 1999. But on Tuesday, Couch received the greatest honor anyone in Kentucky could receive — his likeness on a bottle of Maker's Mark.

As I posted earlier.

He sees a guy like Megatron get paid (not that he is anywhere near that level of ability), and he knows that in Cleveland he will be relegated to 700 yard 4td seasons because of "the system". He, and many others, know that they won't ever get paid playing in that kind of system.

This is a real issue, and until we move beyond the caveman style offense we aren't going to get anyone to come here who will make a lick of difference.

Kickers want to play for the Browns. Kickers get franchised in Cleveland.

The speculation I've heard is Richardson & Kalil due to having the same agents as former disgruntled Browns players/coaches (Braylon, Hillis & Daboll). Probably more agent than player driven in those cases. Have my doubts in Richardson because I've heard he "just wants to be drafted and to play some football."

The Blackmon comments I completely believe. Maybe he changes his tune if they draft Weeden to throw him the ball?

One of the comments that I heard is that players don't want to play here because "they are not trying to win with their drafts (meaning trade downs/never grabbing elite talent) and THAT QB." I don't think any legit WR wants to come into a situation knowing that their talents may not be maximized with a good QB throwing to them.

This couldn't be further from the truth. Look at Greg Little, a guy with 45 drops and he still got 61 catches for 709 yds, as a ROOKIE who didn't play football the year before. Guys on this team aren't putting up megatron numbers because they're not Megatron Calvin Johnson. LMAO if you honestly think no one is putting up record breaking numbers on this team because of the system. Its the fact hat they're not 6'5" running 4.3. Talent not system is the issue at WR.
