Doubtful but I'd love it.Wooball;1121876 wrote:Any chance we could see the Browns move down twice in the first round? First move from 4 to 6 in a trade with the Rams, then from 6 to 8 in a trade with the Dolphins for the Fins to select Tannehill?

Possible but unlikely I'd say.

I hope. They better do it at least once.

Depends, I wouldn't mind getting a blue chip player either.

Vickers had 4 catches last year and a high of 13 in 2007. Somehow the Texan's rushing game blew up in 2011. Hmmmm.Commander of Awesome;1121875 wrote:Anytime you draft a FB in the 4th its a reach IMO. He actually played in 14 games, which is more than I thought he played in. I will say for all the talk about a WC FB, the guy had 5 catches on the season. I would rather had kept Vickers.

I believe James Casey was the Texans starting FB. There's a reason Vickers was expendable and currently with the Cowboys. Vickers wasn't the reason for the Texans RB's blowing up.OneBuckeye;1121883 wrote:Vickers had 4 catches last year and a high of 13 in 2007. Somehow the Texan's rushing game blew up in 2011. Hmmmm.

Ah didn't know that. Thanks. It said he played in 14 games so I assumed he was the starter.BR1986FB;1121891 wrote:I believe James Casey was the Texans starting FB. There's a reason Vickers was expendable and currently with the Cowboys. Vickers wasn't the reason for the Texans RB's blowing up.

The only REAL game he had of significance was, ironically, the Browns. Call it a "revenge factor" or whatever but that was Vickers "coming out party" for them last year. They like Casey much better. Vickers is seen much more favorable in the Cleveland fans' eyes than he is nationally.OneBuckeye;1121894 wrote:Ah didn't know that. Thanks. heres food for thought, it might help our trade down situation. i seen an article on via twitter from pro football talk that the vikings hint they prefer claiborne over kalil. it could lead to a trade down if kalil falls to four?

I doubt that. Who is going to pick them at 4? I sure don't see us wasting a top 4 pick on him, since he is most likely to drop big time.BR1986FB;1121913 wrote:Tannehill will be the pick at 4...

Rizzo is about to start hyperventilating because he was just talking about how angry he is as a Browns fan that heading into year 3 of the Holmgren regime we are looking at a QB competition between a 10 year NFL career backup and a 3rd round pick that hasn't made it through the year because of injury his first 2 years.
On a Mike Holmgren led team that is what our QB situation is, it is shocking and pathetic when you look at it from the outside looking in (taking off my Browns fan hat).

He should mate with Chuck Booms...IggyPride00;1121928 wrote:Rizzo is about to start hyperventilating because he was just talking about how angry he is as a Browns fan that heading into year 3 of the Holmgren regime we are looking at a QB competition between a 10 year NFL career backup and a 3rd round pick that hasn't made it through the year because of injury his first 2 years.

I forget who the guy is, but the Sunday afternoon host on 92.3 hung up on Booms (who called in) because Booms was accusing the guy of carrying the water for and apologizing for the regime. It was pretty funny, but the message I get is that people are getting fed up with the tone deafness of this regime, and that if you want to baby them with kid gloves you had better be ready to explain yourself because patience is running out.BR1986FB;1121932 wrote:He should mate with Chuck Booms...

I agree with some of what Booms & Rizzo are saying but it comes across as so over the top/ridiculous. I know it's their job to get ratings but they come across as dickheads, especially Booms.

Talked with Sam Rutigliano for about an hour on Sunday, he seemed frustrated (dismayed) with the whole regime / ownership/ west coast offense needs tweaked updated etc...PM me if you want to know more specifics

Holmgren also could start using alot more "we" when referring to Browns fans instead of "they". Remember last year when he made the comment about "making them feel good about their football team." He has this image of being totally detached from what is going on, and doing radio shows in Seattle instead of Cleveland just doesn't help that.BR1986FB;1122037 wrote:http://networkedblogs.com/vnYVy

I'm glad the Browns didn't sell their soul for a backup QB at best. RG3 is an okay player, not worth more than a 1st and a 2nd pick to move up 2 spots.
I'm starting to grow on Colt McCoy. Let's get him some weapons and win a super bowl.

I agree. And this 'detachment" is part of the reason why this "slow & steady wins the race/build only through the draft" approach concerns me a bit.IggyPride00;1122048 wrote:Holmgren also could start using alot more "we" when referring to Browns fans instead of "they". Holmgren is out of here in two+ years. What if they don't have a succession plan to pass the torch to Heckert? We continue to draft only, not make the playoffs and a new regime comes in AGAIN in two years and decides they want to run a 3-4 defense and blows it up once more?
