I would agree with this too. The fact that the AP is the only poll that even allows penalized teams to be ranked shows how they generally feel about teams in that situation. Hell, USC even got up to 10 this year with 2 losses.

If they go 12-0, they will be up there in the AP (though if there are other undefeateds, THEN I could see them ranking those ones ahead of OSU). Otherwise, they will drop them fast.

I'm going to be very interested in how the offense works, we saw what his Florida teams were like post-Percy Harvin. I think the world of Urban Meyer, but I question the strength of the receiving corp (I do think Stoneburner is one of the best in the country). Simply put, without stretching the field vertically can the offense really take off next year? I'm not a doubter, but perhaps just not a sold believer in it yet. He needs some elite speed on the edges in my opinion. When that happens he will probably blow the lid off of the Big Ten, as expected.
I feel Corey Brown can stretch the field vertically.

We shall see, he is very fast. He's no Percy though.

Ohio State won't be undefeated next year. But they will be better than Notre Dame and Michigan and you can take that to the bank.

I do think it's possible, however, they might be hurt by some AP voters who will refuse to even rank OSU. Given that their ranking will simply be a number that will have no influence on how people perceive a national championship eligible team, if there are any biased voters against OSU, next year will be the year the votes reflect that bias.

I could see them going 12-0 and being in the top 5, but will lose steam to make it to #1 because people simply won't want to see it.

I guesstimated that shit.

Admittedly, if it came out to be something like 47 I would have been pissed off.

If it does happen, I hope the OSU fans who said USC's AP national title didn't count because the BCS title game crowns the national champ remain consistent and apply the same logic they did several years ago.

That's fine. Honestly, it's about consistency. If a Buckeye fan said USC's was valid back then and claimed OSU's next year....I would be fine with it.

Not totally unrealistic that OSU could go undefeated next year...the big 10 is just not that great of a conference. Too bad its too late to schedule an LSU or Alabama next year since there is really nothing for us to lose if we got beat.

You know the AP withdrew from the BCS, they were not kicked out. Coaches Poll <<<<<<<<<< AP Poll.

Dude, the AP is what it is. They are ALWAYS relevant. That relevancy goes much further than college football. They don't NEED to vote anyone a certain way to stay relevant. That's one of the dumbest arguments I've seen to prove this point. There are others that are plausible, but to say the AP will simply vote a certain way to stay relevant (I guess by creating controversy) is just stupid.

Meyer says next year's team will be working out, practicing, preparing to beat every team on their schedule next year by 100 points.

Allowing boosters to give players' families homes. There is no doubt in my mind that USC knew about this.

Will he be able to catch the ball though?

I don't put much into an AP title, but a BCS title isn't much better. I'd recognize a BCS title over an AP though.
