This team is a legit wing player away from being a solid top 4 team in the east. They also need an upgraded bench. J lamb would be a perfect fit for this team. Either him or Harrison Barnes. We need to get rid of Jameson do Thompson can get more minutes and develop.

He's averaging 11 rebounds, not 14.
I think there's definitely an argument for him as an all-star reserve. Bargnani was the easy choice as backup, but if he misses significant time with the calf he's obviously not an option. Then add in Lopez, Horford, and Bogut being hurt (Horford and Bogut weren't putting up huge numbers to begin with) and there's just not a big pool to choose from.

My bad, could have sworn it said 14 RPG during the telecast, but looking back at it I think I got mixed up when they mentioned his 4.4 ORPG leading the NBA...Mulva;1069699 wrote:He's averaging 11 rebounds, not 14.

Either way, he's nearly averaging a double-double. And as you said, Bogut, Horford, and Lopez are no where to be found.
I doubt he makes it, but he definitely has a case.

AV earns his paycheck every night out. Basketball purists love his game. Without him, LBJ's heyday here would not have been as good.hoops23;1069686 wrote:You serious? He's averaging nearly 10 PPG and almost 14 RPG...
They posted the #'s today during the game about All Star reserve centers and Andy definitely has a case. He leads the NBA in ORPG and is one of the reasons Cleveland is actually playing very decent basketball.
Never could understand the AV bashing...not now...not a few years ago either.

Game winner was sick.
As for AV, he is a great ball player. Lot of what he does doesn't show up in the stat sheet. Players hate playing against him because he's such a pest. I don't care if he's an all star or not. Doesn't change my opinion of him.

Nice to know that the Cavs have a player that is confident enough in his free throw shooting that he can take it to the hole in those situations...unlike #6.hoops23;1069457 wrote:Was watching with some friends and we knew Kyrie would hit te game winning shot as that game was winding down.
Then when he did, we all pretty much said "LeBron would have settled for a terrible jumper there".

Judging by some of the names, the teams they're on, and the pictures they used, your "recent" poll doesn't look too recent. So like I said (but I'll explain it slower this time so you understand). Two-thousand-seven callllled theyyyy waaaant theeeeir arguuuuument baaaack.

Bet you didn't care when Vlade was easily the biggest flopper in the league.Skyhook79;1069826 wrote:Are you saying AV doesn't flop a lot?

Celtics come into the Q for round 2 tomorrow night. I'm not sure they take the Cavs as lightly down the stretch this time but you never know.

Also, honestly I didn't think Kyrie would be as good as he has been. Kid can get to the basket whenever he wants to. He's going to be an elite player in this league.

I also never said "basketball purists love his (Vlade's) game". I hate floppers whether they are on my favorite team or not.se-alum;1069853 wrote:Bet you didn't care when Vlade was easily the biggest flopper in the league.

He's already an elite talent, just needs to keep developing and keep learning. Byron Scott is going to be very good for his learning.se-alum;1069856 wrote:Also, honestly I didn't think Kyrie would be as good as he has been. Kid can get to the basket whenever he wants to. As good as Varejao is, he's not what we need right now. Trade him and try to get a first round draft pick. A team in contention would love his ability off the bench.

so you would trade one of the 2 decent NBA starters on our team for a low 1st round pick?sleeper;1069943 wrote:As good as Varejao is, he's not what we need right now. Trade him and try to get a first round draft pick. A team in contention would love his ability off the bench.

There's no way I trade AV. Like others have said, it's not just his numbers. It's all of the other things he brings.
