It seemed like Triplette was punished like Phil Ludwig (coin toss moron)....but I guess not. Brown suffered a hell of a lot for that......Tripplete got pushed down by a mountain......not quite the same.

I'm a browns fan and thought it was a good hit. An illegal hit, yes, but oh well. I like big hits.

Yeah Brown suffered because he couldn't play, but he got a nice little $25 mil settlement from the League. Also, he passed awat in September.

He got $25 million....but I'd call that deserved. That negligence led to a lot of other stuff....but just the eye issues and being out of football in the prime of his career was completely life altering.

I hate/love Harrison. I think he's a pos ( dudes been trouble since he was playing HS ball in Akron, when his suspensions from games began, go figure), a moron (wouldnt visit the white house because the prez wouldve invited the Cards had they won the SB. As someone with a medical background, those who say the NFL is becoming a game for girls/pussies etc, and stuff like this went on for years in the past "and it was okay back then", etc don't get it.
Todays players are --as a rule--bigger and faster. We have become more aware over the years that repeated head injuries are not benign/ "getting your bell rung". They have the potential to cause permanent brain damage. Knowing this, it's only appropriate that rule changes be made to limit that possibility. Harrison could just as easily lowered his shoulder pad into Colt's chest/belly and taken him down just as easily. To say he "had no choice but to hit him in the face mask with his helmet" is asinine. Harrison deserves his suspension, and next time he does THE SAME THING he'll get a 2 game suspension---and that will be just as deserved. Like it or not the rules are here to stay, so you either adhere to them or find yourself suspended for more games than you play. It SHOULDN'T be that difficult; the fact that it even came to suspension for Harrison tells me he's not a very bright boy.

I'm all for safety of the players, but they take it way too far. This comment has nothing to do with Harrison specifically.

If the NFL were really concerned about the health of the players they would ban kickoff and punt returns. What about the pounding that that a lineman's heads takes on every play?

The only opinions that matter in this case are the ref who threw the flag and the commish.

Harrison had "plenty" of time to pull up and not hit him like he did. It wasn't a split second. The ball was out and Harrison took 2 steps and hit him. Watch the video, it didn't happen as fast as you and others think it did.

The flag is irrelevant. Ray Lewis didn't draw a flag when he concussed Hines Ward earlier this year. He did draw a fine from King Goodell. Yes, we all know the only opinion that matters is King Goodell's.

I watched it live and I watched the video. Could Harrison have pulled up, maybe. I would say he a split second to make the decision. He was attacking a ball carrier.If the ball carrier had been Cam Newton or Tim Tebow there would not have been a flag. It isn't Harrison's fault that McCoy is so slight.
