and saying a 2 game suspension for that hit is just stupid

Bottom line is this will get flagged/fined/punished in the NFL every time, especially against a QB. Now, 10 years ago we wouldn't even be having this discussion, because the NFL was not quite as pussified as it is now.

Agree - Thank Tom Brady.

Love Brady...he's my teams QB...but he's the reason for a few rule changes IMO

Flushed from the pocket, McCoy was laid out on a helmet-to-face mask hit from Harrison, who faces league penalties and possibly a suspension.
McCoy did not show concussion-like symptoms until after the game, and Shurmur was confident the Browns’ medical personnel did not put the second-year QB at risk by clearing him to play in the final minutes of a 14-3 loss.
“He was deemed ready to play,” Shurmur said. “We followed all the proper medical procedures.”

he was fine to play in the game...this is just propaganda to get harrison suspended

Exactly. QBs are pretty much the face of the league so they will protect them as much as possible. I've seen hits like that in all levels of football. I'm not defending it. A flag and fine are warranted. The thing I dislike is the flags for clean hard hits that are borderline and the obvious inconsistency of the calls.

Players aren't getting any slower or smaller so they will just have to adapt.

Ronnie Lott is one of my favorite players of the past. He wouldn't make it today's game, he'd be broke.

Did London Fletcher get fined for his penalty on brady? Nope. You know why? He didn't use his helmet to hit him in the head and he isn't a repeat offender who's been fined before. You're just as dense as Rock_Knutne and Harrison.

he was out of the pocket trying to run...you are not defenseless...just cause he chucked the ball out of his hands at the last second doesnt make it a terrible hit. harrisson hasnt been fined this season..so what is your point? is he supposed to never live down past hits?...every hit he makes from now on you are going to add to previous ones? just because most of them are against the browns is probably what makes you so upset but you guys need to protect yourself better..and quit crying..you dont see HW cry when he gets blown up now and then..you didnt seen big ben cry last week when he got punched in the head and almost decapitated...its FOOTBALL

Unless your name is Favre or Roethlisberger. I recall that last playoff run where he got demolished and no flags or anything came about.

If you're going to make it the "don't touch the QB" league at least make sure you include all the QBs.

If Harrison played for the Chiefs and played the way he does, and hit let's say Phillip Rivers this past week, would we even have this poll? Would you be this passionate about his punishment or not?

Yes, HitsRus loves to start poll threads on just about anything.

ok Rock. I don't give a shit about the browns. No, you do not live down your past, it's what is know as a REPUTATION. If he hit him in the body this isn't a discussion, but he didn't.

A fine and one game suspension and that's an appropriate punishment IMO. Until that hit, Harrison had, for the most part, conformed and changed his ways this season. I can't defend that hit. However, I can defend Harrison's play overall this season. He made an effort to play within the rules and while one bad decision on his part warrants a hefty fine and a game suspension....I think anything more than that is going overboard.

To defend Harrison's hit just shows anyone who defends him is as clueless as Harrison. It's not about protecting the QB in this play. Cribbs could have ran the same play, and Harrison would have been flagged. The fact of the matter is the hit was late, and it was illegal. Harrison knew damn well what he was doing. Give me a break.

It's not about which team he plays for either. He could be playing for the Bills and the hit could have occured against a team not named the Browns, and I still would say he should be suspended and fined.

If Suh was suspended two games as a 2nd year player, Harrison sure as hell should. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Harrison obviously has not learned his lesson.

One game, and $50K.

Then he will call Goodell a "***" again.

What's ridiculous about it? Obviously the fines and penalties aren't working. I think he needs suspended, but just 1 game, not 2. See what that does.

He was fine to play??? Did you not see him when he came back in??? Even the NFL is saying, Uh, no, dude was not fine to play. I think you are the only one that has said he was fine to play, excluding the dumbass Browns during the game.

If this was a San Diego message board, yes, we would probably have this poll.

If he wouldn't have made contact with his facemask this wouldn't even be a discussion. He needs to learn how to come head up and just drive into the midsection with a shoulder, but easier said than done.

Any predictions on when his next illegal hit will be, and what the punishment will be? We all know it's going to happen again.

My guess is it won't happen next season, but the season after and Pittsburgh fans will argue he should recieve no punishment since he did not commit a illegal hit for a full season!

i think the fines did work...hasnt had a problem since the last time we played the brownsi didnt say he was fine to play the browns HC didthis is a split second play...its not like mccoy was standing in the pocket and JH took a 10 yard sprint and blew him up. it should get a fine because of the way it ended up but i honestly dont think it should be a suspension and i would say that for any player on any team. i hate to see the league get wussified.
