Game to be televised on ESPN2 at 12:30pm.
The Crosstown Shootout is Saturday. For the majority of you OC'ers who have never ventured south of Grove City, it is kind of a big deal to people in Cincinnati. They have been played this one since 1928. UC has dominated the series for most of that time, but in the past 10-15 years Xavier has a leg up on the Bearcats. UC won the game last year by 20 pts.
Xavier looks to be the favorite this year, but frankly this is a game where you can throw the record book out the window. When UC had their run as the #1 team in the country with Kenyon Martin I remember an average Musketeer squad beat them. Likewise, a mediocre UC team beat a ranked Xaiver club a few years back.
I leave you a clip from last year.

Also, to clarify something that was mentioned in another thread by Sherm, UC guard Sean Kilpatrick told a local radio talk show host this week that Xaiver's Tu Holloway wouldn't start at UC.
This is sort of par for the course for this heated rivalry.

I think Xavier is going to be pretty pissed off after they shit the bed last year.
Kenny Frease needs to stay out of foul trouble. But I expect Tu to have a huge game.
With it being at Cintas, I say Xavier wins. It won't be a blowout, like I wish it would be, but I think X wins by a comfortable margin.

I probably am going to surprise you here Sherm, but I do not have faith in my Bearcats this year. This UC squad has not impressed me at all. We have not hit any shots, the free-throw shooting has been absolutely abysmal, their not playing defense like last year and like you I believe you guys will be inspired by last year's debacle.
I think X wins this one 64-59.

Who the hell is Sean Kilpatrick and why does he think he is better than a pre-season first team all american?

Kilpatrick was speaking of his teammate Cashmere Wright.CinciX12;1008741 wrote:Who the hell is Sean Kilpatrick and why does he think he is better than a pre-season first team all american?
You will soon learn about "Killa" Kilpatrick.

Is Sean Kilpatrick actually getting playing time this year? I thought he was their best scorer last year but it seemed like Mick never let him play. Dude can fill it up if given the chance, and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he is a top 3-5 scorer in the Big East his junior and senior years.

SK is averaging 15 pts and 5 boards a game right now as a sophomore. He is starting and playing quite a bit this year.Terry_Tate;1008952 wrote:Is Sean Kilpatrick actually getting playing time this year? I need to see a better view of that block/goal tend. It looked pretty damn clean to me. The ball didn't look like it was even getting to the rim.

The ball was on the way down and it was right at the rim so they had to call it.

Looks like UC has Retro unis as well. They need to go back to the uniforms from The late 90s early 2000s. Those were some sweet unis.

I like these unis. Are you talking about the Jordan brand ones with the C Paw on the ass?Terry_Tate;1009940 wrote:Looks like UC has Retro unis as well. They need to go back to the uniforms from The late 90s early 2000s. Those were some sweet unis.

Yes, those were great. My high school went to those too. And since we were the Wildcats, we kept the C paw.

Way to start this one Tu Holloway. Talked shit in front of the Cincy bench, its gonna piss someone off. Baited UC players right into it.
EDIT....On the replay's, ESPN hasnt shown where it started. Look when there is 17 seconds left. Tu is saying something to the bench and the UC coach wants a T(turns to the ref pointing) and then asks for a TO, then a slobberknocker ensues.

Haha Frease got dropped.
Gates is gonna get a significant suspension in my opinion.

Well that escalated quickly. Kicks and punches being thrown. Gates, and Wells should easily be suspended. As well as the dude from Cincy who kicked. A few others, I could see. Holy shit, in a 20 pt blowout to boot.
